IDW's Judge Dredd is pretty great

I was actually wondering about that already.

When might be a good place to try it out?

IDW's main title Judge Dredd is only at 10 issues, I've only read volume 1, and it was really good!

But you should read Judge Dredd Year One first, It's only in 4 issues and its amazing.

I suggest East of West, Ghosted or X-O Manowar and if you aren't reading Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles then that too.

@silent_bomber: Thanks. I'm going to have to give those a look.

You should definitely check out The Wake (Vertigo), it's brilliant and only 3 issues in.

Cool. It's Scott Snyder's writing it, right?

I'll check that out. I have a few questions though. What genre is it?

And, is it an ongoing and if not how many issues will it be?

@battle_forum_junkie: Yeah the Wake is Scott Snyder. It's sort of mystery/thriller. I highly recommend it! And it's ten issues long.

I also recommend X-O Manowar and Black Bat, since you're looking for comics outside of the Big Two.

@battle_forum_junkie: Anything Valiant. You should try to have at least one Valiant title. Me personally.. I like to have all of them.

X-O Manowar if you like Sci-Fi ish stuff. Mostly action, though.

Shadowman if you like the supernatural.

Bloodshot if you like dark, slight humour and great action.

Quantum & Woody is flat out HILARIOUS and it's only just started, so give it a try.

Archer & Armstrong has a real solid storyline and some good humour. It actually includes a lot of the elements from the titles I've already listed, so this in general an easy series to love.

There's also Harbinger, which is said to be one of Valiants best titles.

I completely agree with this. You life is incomplete without Valiant.

@sagejonathan: I'm actually thinking of getting Bloodshot. When might be a good place to start? I mean, I have literally no knowledge of Bloodshot other than Valiant's discription of the title, but it really interested me.

@battle_forum_junkie: I don't read Bloodshot, but for any of the Valaint series, it would be best to start from the beginning if possible; you don't want to miss anything because its all so good. However, I think issue 14 might be the start of a new arc but you should look into that. But definitely check it out.

I recommend The Flash, and Earth 2 from DC and from Marvel Avengers A.I. There have only been 2 issues so far, so you could easily catch up. I was also going to recommend Captain Midnight, but I see you already read him. Black Bat is another good book.

@battle_forum_junkie:

Bone(by Jeff Smith)

Astro City

Transmetropolitan

Fables.

If you're only looking for one, then go with Bone. That one is a must for any comics fan.
