Comic books are a collectible item and a relatively cheap collectible at that. If you're a visitor to this site, then there's a very good chance you own a few. However, even within this market, there are still some very collectible items for fans to pick up, but those items come at a cost. In "Buy Me This," we take a look at some super-cool, yet super-expensive collectibles available on the Internet for comic book fans or even science-fiction fans to own. We'll be rotating what types of collectibles we'll take a look at every week, and this week, we're checking out movie props and replicas.

Biff Tannen's Jacket from Back to the Future 2

No Caption Provided

It may not be a direct comic book related item, but the Back to the Future series is one of the greatest sci-fi trilogies in all of nerdom. This item comes to us from iCollector, but you just can't downright buy the jacket. You'll have to win it in a bid. The bidding for this jacket begins on March 15th and has the starting price of $5,000. This was the jacket actor Thomas F. Wilson, who played Biff Tannen, wore in the 'Enchantment Under the Sea' dance scenes in the second Back to the Future film. Now, you, too, can wear this jacket and drive your car into a manure truck, while chasing around that pesky Calvin Klein.

Star Wars: A New Hope: Obi-Wan Lightsaber Replica

No Caption Provided

If you haven't used an empty wrapping paper cardboard tubing as a lightsaber, you haven't lived. Well, now you can own the real thing... kinda. Coming from Prop Store us this replica of the lightsaber prop Obi Wan used in Star Wars A New Hope. It's mostly made out of aluminium and measures in at 3.5" x 2.5" x 11" and shows a bit of wear in the paint to match its on-screen counterpart. If you're looking to pick this awesome piece up, it will cost you $1,245, but it'll probably be oh so worth it.

The Tesseract from Captain America: The First Avenger

No Caption Provided

I am as stunned as you are that this is actually for sale. We found this puppy on eBay. That means you can own the Cosmic Cube... I mean "Tesseract." This is the actual prop from the movie, believe it or not, and if you end up purchasing this, you'll get a certificate of authenticity from Marvel Studios. Here's the downside, you'll have to shell out $30,000 to own it or make the seller a reasonable offer; however, this item has been on sale since July of 2012, so it may not be going anywhere any time fast. But how cool would this be to show your friends, right before they laugh at you for spending $30,000 on a plastic cube with champagne bubbles in it?

There you have it! We'll see you guys next week when we talk about some cool original art for sale on the net!

Mat "Inferiorego" Elfring is a writer, joke teller, twitter guy, podcaster, and does NOT want you to buy him anything in this piece.

I have never fainted in my life but I think I would if I acquired that Obi-Wan lightsaber. The only thing that would make me happier would be a Darth Maul double bladed replica lightsaber.

That guy is NOT going to sell the Cosmic Cube for 30k. Hes going to have to lower the price by AT LEAST half if not more to have any chance of selling it. I imagine it selling somewhere in the 5-10k range

That's what I was thinking. This dude must think the tesseract is a bigger deal than it actually is.... $30k for Cap's shield? Maybe. $30k for something only comic book fans understand the importance of? Nope.

I'd probably go for Obi-Wan's lightsaber more than the other two. The jacket looks pretty generic. So does the Cube. I'm a Star Wars fan, so Alec Guinness's lightsaber would be a pretty cool collectible to have around. Maybe my kids will get it for me for a birthday or anniversary...

I'm sorry, but there is no way any reasonable human being would pay $30K for the Cosmic Cube prop. Dude's crazy if he thinks otherwise.

The Cosmic Cube would be better if it glowed or something... without the CG it looks lame. Huge fan of the idea owning something like that though

WHat is the point of buying all these pointless "collectibles"? Just waste of money IMO.

Biff's jacket is cool. I mean it looks like something that would be in my closet anyway. I wear a lot of non discript gray clothing.

I really want that jacket..

Instead of spending the ridiculous amount of at least $5,000 for a jacket that may or may not fit you I'd rather have it custom-made from a tailor for less than 10% of that starting price.

Of course not! Instead it would be a brand new, much cheaper, and perfectly fitting replica jacket that I would actually dare to wear it. Don't get me wrong, I see your point but I'm not a collector of such clothing items. The jacket itself looks pretty neat though.
