BLUE MARVEL RANT!!!!!!

This is the one thing i bitterly hate about the people here on comic vine. No body EVER complains that there are to many superman, batman, wonder woman,ironman, or hulk threads, no body every goes into battle threads and insults every fan of a certain A list character because he/she had people argue for them. But blue marvel had that ONE thread were it was him against cheetah that went over 700 hundred and then all of a sudden we have comments like this

"I stay far away from debating in Blue Marvel threads because I've seen far too many of them on the Vine and they never end well"

lol are you serious? why is it that when an unknown character gets a burst of popularity in the battle forms that character gets this label. It maybe like 20 blue marvel fans on here IF THAT? but since people have started arguing for him and people have been making more threads about him we now have things like "inb4 blue marvel fans" lol... WHAT BLUE MARVEL FANS?!?! its only me and a few other people. Now i know since this is comic vine im just going to be labeled butthurt but if you ask me its the people who are saying this stuff about an unknown character who just got lucky enough to have a battle thread reach over 700 who are butthurt. its like people get scared if an unpopular character gets a boost in fame.

People don't like him because he's overrated beyond belief, and his fans say he can beat just about anyone. It's annoying as he'll.

I don't have an issue with him winning, but his fans hype him up to be the most powerful thing ever. It gets really annoying. Don't go assuming crap, then accuse me of not knowing what I'm talking about. He doesn't have enough feats to suggest he can beat other high tier powerhouses. You just get extremely defensive when people argue against black characters.

@homicidalmaniac: compared to the sun. I did a cav eradicator vs king Hyperion. NWO was using King Hyperion taking antimatter punches as a durability feat. Eradicator has been on the sun. I did a slight comparison and antimatter didn't seem to equal the sun by any means.

95% of the people that post in the battle forums are people who are so stupid they believe a character being able to win every fight links directly to how cool they are, so much so they use the "show a scan" method of stupidity to protect their idiotic beliefs and stops people from actually thinking and rationalizing things. You know, how debates are actually supposed to work by taking facts and then using them to come to a logical conclusion. Throwing scans back and froth is like throwing facts back and forth without applying the information, it's not debating and it's actually really stupid. You just kind of have to accept that 17 year olds make up the bulk of this site and they're not going to listen to you when they rationalize everything they do in their head so that you're the stupid one for disagreeing with them.

Couple high tier characters had been on stars(EX.Thor or Sentry)and they been effected by characters that have planetary level strength.

Of course not every characters are alike and you feel free to have that opinion your

I understand the distaste you have for the current situation of Anti-Blue Marvel fans. However, the truth is nobody likes a omnipotent-ish type characters. If a character is unbeatable people who are unfamiliar with the character do not want to hear about how unbeatable they are.

The only few exceptions are well known characters: Superman, Batman, Black Adam, et cetera.

Still, I honestly dislike battle threads I feel they have little to no use in forums. They are not that productive and the battles are pure imagination. Plus, arguing about feats also boils down to continuity. I find the whole idea of arguing about fictional characters being able to beat another fictional character tiresome.

My favorite characters are my favorite characters because of their stories and not because of their powers. (+)

As to address the rant - it's not the character's popularity that I'm straying away from - it's the extremist nature of your debate style & tendency to get incredibly aggressive to the point of personal attacks and baseless assumptions because people don't agree with you.

Nobody here has a problem with Blue Marvel as a character - we have a problem with those who choose to represent him in the battle forums and how they go about doing so.

You might want to learn to voice your opinions with less hostility and aggression while focusing on fine tuning them to make them easier to read, much clearer, and more well spoken.

You've also intentionally made spite threads in which BM is the victor - and you know that. So don't play it off as you're a victim here whose being attacked by the masses. Your behavior has brought this upon you, and only you can choose to prevent it by cleaning up your act.

Battle Forums scare me.

They're a terrifying place - but I must admit I love the terror.

Actually blue Marvel is cool and really deserves an upgrade in powers..But that is up to Marvel to hook him up..

Icon is another black superhero who doesn't get enough respect either.. If anything, Icon should be rated higher than Super boy and about equal to Mon El but he is slightly under both of them.. but that's just the way it is unfortunately.. but it is time for black superheroes to get more props..

Just added this bit as that's what I'd say to avoid being called a hater of Blue Marvel's character but this sums up my thoughts nicely.

@lvenger: I've outright told him that I've actually enjoyed Blue Marvel's stories, and have read every comic he has appeared in. I think he's a pretty good character, but people want him to be something he's not. If they want to say I'm a hater, even after I've told them I like them, let them. No skin off my back.

Blue Marvel is just as powerful as all the other Marvel high tier's, although on the Vine he is quite overrated.

Every comic book character is overrated due to mainstream, or underrated do to lack of knowledge. Some people are just ingnorant.

The way I see it:

See Blue Marvel has battled Hyperion and othe Marvel notable characterd and held his own..So it may be more to it than just powers..I bet if Marvel started giving him more appearances in their animated movies, we would see an increase in his popularity..This is what has helped other black superheroes such as Black Panther, War Machine Blade, and even Falcon grow in popularity..Again; it is up to Marvel to step up and give him a chance..Blue Marvel could actuallt become a very likeable character too

I love BM, he wins sometimes and he lose sometimes.

Seems like it happens every once in a while. A user will defend any black character as if they are the best, most powerful character ever. They'll do that for about a month or two then disappear forever lol.
