Hey guys! So my birthday was recently and I'm wondering if you guys could help me in figuring out what comics I should get? I'm generally in to superhero stuff but I'm open for anything. I've already ordered Batman: The Long Halloween and X-Men: Messiah Complex and I have a bunch of other really good books in my collection. Any recommendations would be appreciated. :)
Birthday Comics?
@CrimsonCake: @DoomDoomDoom: @Donovan Montgomery: @Referee: Thanks so much everyone!
I'm actually thinking more on the lines of trade paperbacks. To buy all 3 New X-Men's on top of what I'm getting as is is a little out of my price range to be honest. I've read Teen Titans vol. 3 tho and I absolutely love it
@Or35ti: Happy Birthday!
Got any Superman books?
Recommendations: All-Star Superman, Red Son, Superman For All Seasons (SAME CREATIVE TEAM BEHIND BATMAN: LONG HALLOWEEN)

these 2 are AWESOME. great reads. HB!
My suggestions :)
- Superman: Red Son
- Superman: Last Son
- Batman: The Killing Joke
- Batman: Arkham Asylum (The art is trippy, but the writing is fantastic)
- JLA: Tower of Babel
- Green Arrow: Year One
- Daredevil: Man Without Fear
- Daredevil: Born Again
- Daredevil: Yellow
- Daredevil: Guardian Devil
- Fantastic Four: Unthinkable (Not sure if this is a specific trade, but anything FF written by Waid is a must read for any FF fan)
- Astonishing X-Men (Get the omnibus if you can! Worth the money!)
- Spider-Man: Big Time
- Spider-Island
- Old Man Logan
- Wolverine: Origin
- Civil War
- Annihilation
- The Ultimates Vol. 1 and 2
- Invincible Vol. 1
- TMNT (IDW) Vol. 1
- The Walking Dead Vol. 1
Happy reading :D
Are you a new reader? I'd recommend both Daredevil: Season One and Spider-man: Season One. As for anything else, this man has you covered:

That's quite the list, thanks you so much for taking the time to type that out!... Of those I already have Ultimates, Astonishing X-Men, and Wolverine: Origin. Would you mind narrowing down the list a little bit? Any you'd strongly recommend in particular?
Happy Birthday!
I would definitely agree with some people before who said Batman The Killing Joke it's a must have for any superhero fan. Batman Year One was amazing too. The Walking Dead Vol. 1 is a good trade to pick up for 10 bucks or so.
@Or35ti: Sure!

I bolded the ones I particularly liked. The last three (especially The Walking Dead) work better if you just buy them all at once and read from there, in my opinion anyway.

@sinestro_GL: @JohnnyWalker: I have All Star Superman and I love it a lot. I've also got Birthright. What's Superman For All Seasons like?
@They Killed Cap!: I own Kingdom Come and read Justice, loved 'em both!
Superman For All Seasons basically is about Clark's transition from Smallville to Metropolis, from farm boy to Man of Steel.

Try this: http://www.amazon.com/The-Teen-Titans-Omnibus-Vol/dp/140123108X
IMO, the best team book.

@Gambit1024: Thanks so much! I'm heavily considering Civil War and Old Man Logan in particular cos I'm looking for big books as well.
@sinestro_GL: Would you recommend another early Superman story if I've already read Birthright?
Of course. There are so many good early Superman stories that it would be a shame to read just one - especially if you like the Loeb/Sale team-up...but it's your choice :) I mean sure, the counter-argument is also true that there are many other great Superman stories.
