What is a moment from a comic book made you say or think Oh Sh*t. could be shocking or surprising or funny, or just something that wowed you?

For me the biggest was when Magneto ripped Wolverine's adamantium out of his body, it was one of the most brutal things Magneto had ever done up to that point and was one of the very few times Wolverine was rendered completely helpless.

This is one of my favorite moments from Hellblazer. The menace just pops out.

That Wolverine example is a pretty good one. The entire X-family of books between Fatal Attractions to X-Men Prime was chock with moments of shock, sort of a staple especially when a series hit a notable numbered issue. I could rank Wolverine #50 and #100 right there with that. Fatal Attractions itself still is probably the largest moment of impact in X-Men comics to date and represented the turning point for the nature of the books and everything it's become today. Thinking about it that shock factor may be one of the large factors that attracts/compels me to the X-books so much, and maybe still the thing that's become cliche about them and why there is a lot of dissonance towards the state of affairs now? My biggest...maybe Ozymandias's in his big moment in Watchmen or Kraven's moment in Kravens Last Hunt? The latter was especially harsh because I'd never read a suicide in a Spider-man comic, particularly one that blunt. It's Marvel so you know I kept looking after for it to be a dream sequence, or them to rescind that as having not happened as it had. I'm certain if I read through all of those nice Greatest Moments In Comics threads I would be reminded of something else though.

In Walking Dead when Lori and her baby got killed and Carl was tried to rape.

There were many in Preacher, Scalped and 100 Bullets.

@difficlus

Why is Freddie Mercury killing that guy?

J/K

The biggest Oh $#!t moment is comics for me was the return of the Anti-Monitor during the Sinestro Corps War.

as the saying Oh sh*t moment is the moment that you did not see that one coming tails drowning by auto fiona was surprise worth mentioning. the robot he loved is sadistically beat him up and tried to kill him while she was killing herself. that is one dark cartoon punching cloud when you think about it.
