It's been a solid year for the Man of Steel so what in your opinions has been the best series this year.

    Rules

-List 3 series from 1-3, 1 being the best.

-It cannot be series like JL or Injustice which are too deluded to be Superman books. It can be any of these titles.

    • Superman
    • Action Comics
    • Superman Unchained
    • Adventures of Superman
    • Smallville
    • Batman/Superman
    • Superman/Wonder Woman

Please take into consideration all of the comics that came out this year for each series and none of the comics from last year. The votes will be added up somewhere between the 25th and the 31st.

1- Superman/Wonder Woman- Issue 13 was a bit bumpy but the rest of the year it was the best series IMO. It was also tied for first as the best series during the Doomed arc.

2- Action Comics- A great fun series that didn't drop that much in quality after the first arc. It was still fun and enjoyable and things picked up in a big bad way in November.

3- Batman/Superman- It was the best series the last two months but the rest of the year it was bumpy. It also had the worst Doomed tie in issue. If the series had been as good as it is now all year, it wold have taken first.

    1. Action Comics
Although I prefer Superman, Action Comics was pretty much consistent for the whole year. While Superman's first half was plagued by Lobdell. The Doomed event brought the title down a bit.
    2. Superman:
I think the rising star of the new year. By probably the best mainstream/franchise writer currently working at DC. Johns' started pretty strong in terms of characterazation and story. You can really see the difference between his previous Superman run and this. But this title has to take second place because half of this year was written by Lobdell and because the first storyline still hasn't even ended to form a cocrete opinion.
    3. Superman Unchained:
The delays and only five issues for a whole year doesn't help this title get to the top. Also the competition is quite strong with AC and Supes but Unchained's main weakness was the delays, it affected the story's pace and overall feel. The end was nice but I expected a bit more. The last page was fine great though.

Thanks for the tag, these would be my choices.

    1. Superman/Wonder Woman

    2. Superman

    3. Is it possible that I have a tie? 'cuz I'm stuck between Action Comics and Superman/Batman. Both are undeniably great for me, but if no ties then I would best choose Superman/Batman.

    Action Comics

    Batman/Superman

    Superman/Wonder Woman

I don’t know where to put Superman and Smallville’ books. Superman in 2014 had both good (Johns) and very mediocre (Lobdell) runs; Smallville – written rather well, but I never can enjoy it at fullest, since I remember on which TV-show it’s based.

    Tie between AC and S

This is a standard rank series poll at which I will add up the points later. I need 3 ranked from 1-3

    Action Comics-First

    Batman/Superman-Second

    Superman/Wonder Woman-Third

Uh huh ditto. But to separate the worst of it from my opinion, I'd go:

    1. Smallville: Season 11 - From what I've followed, this actually seems like one of the best classic representations of Superman and the DCU with a fresh lick of paint on it. Stays true for both fans of the show, comic book fans and represents the wider DCU well.
    2. Superman Unchained - Despite the utterly atrociously disappointing ending and the poor pacing between each issue, Unchained still delivered a much more satisfying and engaging Superman story in the New 52 than most other writers. Morrison only beats this mini series out for me because it got better in the middle and end. From now on though, when I reread the series, I'll stop at Unchained #8 just after Superman's beaten Wraith. A much more satisfying ending in my own head canon.
    3. Superman - Not perfect and nowhere near Johns' best Superman story. Rather slow pacing but nice characterisation and interesting inclusion of Ulysses and other story elements. Hopefully Johns can balance the classic supporting cast of The Daily Planet with the new inclusions and hopefully not too gimmicky costume/power change.

Yes I admit that comic was a salve on my burns. Though I guess I overlook it when talking about Superman series because I consider it a separate thing.

@dernman: True it isn't canon per se and the canon stuff is what's considered most popular or talked about on the latest threads.

    Here's how I view it....

    1. Adventures of Superman- I am a big fan of pre 52 Superman the moment they released this series? I bought it first hand. This a must read for anyone who is a Pre 52 Superman fan.
    2. Smallville: Now when I first watched the tv show, I thought it was boring, in later seasons it got a little better. When I found out they were releasing a comic book series, I had to read them, because I want see Clark's life after he took up the mantle of Superman. A must read for Smallville fans.
    3. Superman Unchained: Now I'd already post my "indifference" towards New 52 Superman, but I got to admit, this is not a bad read. This is a story I recommend to every Superman fan. Both New 52 and Pre 52. It's a balance of both.

    1. Action Comics - This whole year was just filled with Pak being amazing, he did Superman stories that I was really excited to read month after month, I felt like a kid with giant smiles on my face every time I read them.

    2. Superman/Wonder Woman, I don't care what anyone says, I like the couple and I think that the book was great, from start to now, with both story & art.

    3. Batman/Superman, this series was very weak after the end of the first arc, but it started picking up again at the second half of this year, and has me hooked more than any series had in a long time with this current arc. So it's definitely better than "Superman" which was half filled with Lobdel & Unchained which had 3 to maybe 4 issues this whole year...

If things at least stay the same as they are lately, 2015 should be a really awesome year for the big blue.

Unchained-Best story despite taking 18 months for 9 issues.

Action- Some good, some not so good.

    SM/WW...See above.

Supe's main problem was "Doomed"..it started out pretty well, but got real tiring, real fast, and went on too long.

    From what I've read...

    Action Comics

    Superman/Wonder Woman

Smallville (I'm not nearly caught up with it so I can't vote it higher)

Lobdell being on Superman this year is what Xed out the Superman title.
