The Avengers vs Chitauri has some of the best large scale fight choreography and sense of place than any fight scene in a film that I've seen. Batman vs Bane was just way too short.
I'm voting for one of the underdogs and voting for Batman vs. The Mutant Leader in The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1. That scene was like watching the comic come to life. It was an awesome fight scene.

The closing sequence in the Avengers for me. I thought that the Bane and Batman fight sequences in TDKR were great, it was fun to see Bale really let loose outside of the brief fight he has with Ra's al Ghul at the end of Begins, but the Chitauri sequence at the end of The Avengers had a scale an spectacle to it that is second to none this year in my opinion. The long unbroken shot in the sequence (you should know the one I mean) clinches it for me.
Just FYI, Loki vs Hulk is technically part of Avengers vs Chitauri. For me, it begins with the Hulk punch and concludes with the team standing over Loki.

Then you don't know Loki. Loki would tear Hulk apart if there's no PIS.
PIS? I might not know the Loki from the comics all that well, but I think the moment fit well with the film version of the character. He's consumed by his hubris and constantly being harassed by those whom he considers to be lesser beings. That the Hulk was able to pound him into the dirt given how they'd established the character's power levels (in the films, not the comics) previously made sense to me. But, to each his own.
Spider-man vs lizard (all rounds) how is this voted so low? that fight was well done, I know it probablt won't get voted high because 95% of it was CGI but still that's hard work to do.

How did Batman vs Bane get that many votes? Because it was what most people saw? Nolan cant direct an action scene if his life was on stake.. The only semi good action scene he ever made was the car chase in TDK.

Yaa i loved that scene, but it was really more a scene, a comedic scene at that.
So therefore If there was a catagorey for best scene that would be it. But then again there were soo many great scenes in dredd, Spiderman, and TDKR so it'd be tough but has a good chance
But as for best fight I feel spiderman was more awesome.
Ugh. Toughy. Batman vs Bane were quite epic. However, Hulk vs Thor got me very excited and the action was better overall. So I'm going to vote Hulk vs Thor.
As amazing as seeing The Avengers fighting aliens was...the Chitauri had ZERO character and were badly designed. They served only to be beaten. With Batman and Bane there was actually something going on, other than two men just beating each other. The speech Bane gives about being iniated to the League of Shadows, how the light is only blinding to him...that's writing gold right there. Not to mention Batman beat Bane by climbing out of the pit, one of the best moments in superhero films.
I voted for the Hulk vs Thor fight. It was really well done and was one of the battles I've wanted to see in live action for a while and it lived up to my hopes.
The Avengers vs. The Chitauri was such a badass battle between the two. Gave me chills when we see Hulk, Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye go head to head with the aliens. applauds!!
