It's Friday which means that we've gathered up the best looking comic covers for this week and we've compiled them into our list. Since there are a lot of comics to come out each week, there's a good chance we may have missed some; but below are some of our favorites.
First up is the cover to AMERICAN VAMPIRE # 27 by Rafael Albuquerque. The cover is visually stunning and very simple -- it appears to be drenched in rain. Albuquerque uses very few colors to outline the two figures, enhancing the "noir" feel to the book.
== TEASER ==Next up is the BATMAN #1 Annual with an absolutely stunning Jason Fabok cover. Batman appears very stylized -- almost statuesque -- sitting on a snowy rooftop. Behind him is the image of Mr. Freeze, and in the backdrop are owls gliding in towards the character. We loved that this cover really reflected what was happening in the issue.
The cover to the FABLES: DELUXE EDITION BOOK FIVE is pretty incredible. With a breathtaking cover by artist James Jean, it's so beautiful that we wouldn't mind hanging it up on our wall. The great thing about this image is the fact that there are very few colors used on it. The characters in the foreground are enhanced by the fiery orange and yellow hues in the background. It makes for a really beautiful image.
Last but not least is artist Chris Scalf's cover to STAR WARS: BLOOD TIES : BOBA FETT IS DEAD. On this cover, Boba Fett does not physically appear -- instead we see a Storm Trooper raising his helmet up to eye-level and looking at it pensively. It's a beautifully drawn, incredibly detailed image, and it was one of our favorites. Even if Boba Fett didn't really appear on the cover -- at least not directly.
