Each week we choose some of our favorite comic covers for the week's new releases, and this week we have a whole lot that we absolutely loved. As usual, if there's a cover you loved that you think we missed, please let us know and feel free to post it in the thread. Without further ado, here are our picks for the week!
The cover to CAPTAIN MARVEL #9 is just fantastic. It's a great throw-back image to classic covers from the Silver Age in comics and is really well illustrated by artist Jamie McKelvie.
== TEASER ==Next up is the cover to CONAN THE BARBARIAN #12 by artist Massimo Carnevale. It looks like a beautiful watercolor portrait that captures a very painful scene. The image is filled with emotion and is one that just compels passers-by to pick it up.
Amanda Conner and Paul Mounts team up for the cover to CREATOR OWNED HEROES #8 and they knock it out of the park. The stunning silhouette of the femme fatale was just too hot to handle.
Artist German Nobile's cover to the Avatar book CALIGULA: HEART OF ROME #2 is pretty breathtaking and creepy at the same time. It was hard to choose between which of these three covers we liked the most since all were pretty well done.
One of our favorite covers this week was Dave Johnson's cover to B.P.R.D. !948 # 4 of 5. The image is pretty simple and very minimalist, but it still managed to convey a lot of emotion and eeriness.
Next up is the stunning cover to another Dark Horse title; BILLY THE KID OLD TIMEY ODDITIES and the ORM OF LOCH NESS #4. The cover is illustrated by artist Kyle Hotz who does a phenomenal job using dark and shadows to illustrate the image and provide emphasis.
Bernard Chang's stunning cover to DEMON KNIGHTS #16 was one that we could not overlook. The unique way that it reminded us of tapestry was something we absolutely adored.
Finally, John Byrne's cover to THE HIGH WAYS #1 was really beautiful. The retro, throw-back feel to the Golden and Silver Age of comics is undeniable and the result is a beautiful, detailed image.
