No Morrison, Moore, Gaiman? :O

Oh well. I'd have to think for mine.

In no specific order....

Stan Lee - He's basically created every Marvel character there is.

Ed Brubaker - His run on Cap, to me, is legendary, brought Bucky back, and Winter Soldier is awesome.

Christos Gage - I really like his Avengers Academy, it's a shame that it's ending.

Rick Remender - I've only read his Secret Avengers and the first Uncanny Avengers ish, and am quit happy that if anyone has to replace Brubaker, it's him.

Matt Fraction - I really like his Iron Man

Kelly Sue DeConnick - I really like Captain Marvel, right now.

That's about it so far.

And of course, this logically means that they're dead. Billy Logic at its finest.

@The_Soverighn: :D

No, there's just no point calling them best writers alive when they haven't continued to write their stories in for some time now.

Uhhhh. Yes there is. They're alive, not suffering from Dementia, in a healthy state. They're writers. They fit the bill.

Is Mark Waid the same guy doing the next Hulk series, Indestructible Hulk? Would that be worth getting if you're new to comics, like me?

#16 Posted by The_Soverighn (1813 posts) - - Show Bio

@sillypoo: waid has been known as a reinvented in the ways characters are perceived while keeping them true to themselves, so yeah absolutely it should be amazing.

Waid is great, so is Snyder. I think Gail Simone is highly under-rated.

#27 Posted by SlantedRoom (15 posts) - - Show Bio

Brain K. Vaughan is my all time favorite. I'm surprised he hasn't been on more lists. I mean Y: The Last Man is all time great and Saga is shaping up pretty good as well. Nick Spencer is also up there, Morning Glories has been fantastic so far. Jim McCann is also wonderful and Kirkman can hold is own as well.

#28 Posted by krilling (2488 posts) - - Show Bio

Alan Moore, Ed Brubaker, Jason Aaron.

Alan Moore - If DC makes whole crossover events from minor things you've written, you are just that goddamn good.

Frank Miller - Best and the most definitive Batman stories to-date was written by him.

Grant Morrison - I don't need to elaborate on Scottish Lex.

Jeph Loeb - He sucks bigtime when he screws things up. But at his peak, he is damn good. For All Seasons, Long Halloween, etc.

Mark Waid

Mark Millar

Geoph Johns

Scott Snyder
