Best Comic Book Covers of the Week: 2/13/15

Welcome back to another week of some of the best covers in comic books, for this week! Each week, the staff of Comic Vine figures out what's they loved in the world of new comic book covers and presents them to you in this sweet piece. Let's get right down to the nitty-gritty and check out what this week has to offer.

SECRET SIX #2 by Dale Eaglesham

First up, this week, is SECRET SIX #2 by Dale Eaglesham. What is the secret? Who knows? I love how this cover leads the eye to a singular focal-point, the awesomeness that is Catman. It also feels like a bit of an optical illusion as well.

STAR WARS: DARTH VADER #1 by Alex Ross

Next up is STAR WARS: DARTH VADER #1 by Alex Ross. Geez, Alex Ross sure is awesome at making characters look awesome. Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers are simply stunning here. However, they still probably have terrible aim.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #24 by Andrea Sorrentino

Here's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #24 by Andrea Sorrentino. We all knew Sorrentino is one hell of an artist, but his cover work keeps getting better and better. This cover leaves a real haunting feeling with the reader.

NIGHTCRAWLER #11 by Todd Nauck and Rachelle Rosenberg

Finally, here's NIGHTCRAWLER #11 by Todd Nauck and Rachelle Rosenberg. Ever wondered what Nightcrawler looks like going into or coming out of his BAMF? Nauck and Rosenberg give us an idea right here. Love the movement of the BAMF on this cover.

Round Two of Phil Noto Covers!

Once again, Phil Noto had a few great variant covers this week. From left to right, here's THOR #5, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #24, and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #14. Noto's variants are all breathtaking. They have this out of time feeling to them that just looks so cool with current characters, especially Star-Lord.

Twitter Pick: DIVINITY #1 by Jelena Kevic Djurdjevic

The fine folks of Twitter picked DIVINITY #1 by Jelena Kevic Djurdjevic. This was going to make our list if you didn't pick it because it's a pretty stoic look at Abram as he heads off into space. Not only is it a great cover, it would make a great movie poster as well.

When I saw the Secret Six cover close up last night, I thought "This better make cv's covers list." Your lives are spared.

In the Secret Six cover is that Catman?

My eyes are, for some reason, drawn to the codpiece of the Storm trooper on Vader's left.

Awesome to see Divinity make the list! What a stellar comic!

SOO glad Disney bought Star Wars so that they can rehash more stories out of the original Rebellion era. Instead of say, moving on to a different era, either before Phantom Crap or after ROTJ. Typical comic book, rehash the same stories over & over, then reboot & rehash again.

So many gorgeous covers. Brilliant picks, all of them. The first two being the colours they are had me transfixed for a bit, too. The posts above are like an art orgy.
