Best Comic Book Covers of the Week: 11/7/14

Welcome back to Best Comic Book Covers of the week where we take a look at some of the coolest covers released in the past week and put them all in here for you to view. We also ask our followers on Twitter to chime in using #CVCovers. Let's get right down to business and see what's rad.

THE NAMES #3 by Celia Calle

First up is THE NAMES #3 by Celia Calle. We love the reflection in the water here and the overall composition is pretty cool. There's some great color work as well. This is a pretty stunning cover.

DEADPOOL'S ART OF WAR #2 by Scott Koblish

Next is DEADPOOL'S ART OF WAR #2 by Scott Koblish. Both of the covers for this book have been a lot of fun. Koblish does a different style of art here and it looks incredibly cool. Plus, it's got Deadpool holding an umbrella.

BLOODSHOT #25 by Lewis LaRosa

Here's BLOODSHOT #25 by Lewis LaRosa. Wow. LaRosa has done some great work on the Valiant books he's worked on but this cover is outstanding. The colors look fantastic and the moon in the background is a great touch.

VAMPIRELLA #6 by Jenny Frison

Up next is VAMPIRELLA #6 by Jenny Frison. All of Frison's covers for this series have been wonderful, but this is one of her best covers yet. There's a nice softness to the whole piece and an obvious sadness to it as well.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #9 by Olivier Coipel & Justin Ponsor

Finally, here's THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #9 by Olivier Coipel & Justin Ponsor. If you want more Spider-People in your life, then this cover is for you. Ponsor always nails it out of the park with his color work and Coipel sets the cover up nicely. In addition, their interiors are just as awesome.

Not so into the Bloodshot one, but great choices.

Some interesting choices. Really enjoy the picks this week. My favorites are Bloodshot and Vampirella

My personal two favourite covers of the week although they are both variant covers.

@jonnyh101: That death of Wolverine should have been on the list. It's sweet.

My personal favourite was Stephanie Hans' Suicide Risk cover:

That Vampirella cover was so pretty it got me to pick the book up off the shelf... but then I saw the mediocre interior art and put it back down. I wish companies would stop trying to hide their totally mundane interiors behind artsy covers that aren't representative of the actual art in the book at all.

Is it fair to say Scott Koblish is the most versatile artist out there? Dude can change his style to match any theme or era at the drop of a hat.

Good picks this week, especially the Frison Vampirella, it is a shame the Death of Wolverine variant didn't make it in as it is excellent.

I agree, that Legendary Star-Lord Rocket & Groot homage variant is freakin' awesome!!

I love all of the covers, including the ones submitted by the posters above me. How can people not love comics when you have stuff like this being pumped out?

@winter_kills: ahaha xD that's a pretty sweet ringtone for the Legendary Star-Lord, I haven't been watching the show since season 3, i wanna watch it soon :D

Yeah, I haven't been able to watch it in awhile either; ah the hectic schedule of life. I had that as a ringtone for a long time, now I use "Moonage Daydream" by Bowie as my main ringtone- I may still have the Baby Finn song set for wrong numbers though! lol

That Princess Bubblegum tho.

@stardustcrusader: yep yep, AT tends to have a lot of awesome covers but there is something about that one, it isn't as artsy as the others but it is very understated and striking in its simplicity.

I agree with the Calle, Frison, and Coipel covers. Sweet stuff.

That Vampirella Cover Wins!

The Vampirella cover is really beautiful!

Vampirella is my favorite from last week. Legendary Star-Lord was a close second.
