Best Comic Book Covers of the Week: 10/24/14

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another edition of Best Comic Book Covers of the Week! Each week, the staff of Comic Vine picks out their favorite comic book covers from the past week and presents them to you, the reader, in a whirlwind of emotion every Friday. We also ask our fine followers on Twitter what they think, using #CVCovers. Let's get right down to business and see what rocked.

DEATHSTROKE #1 by Andrea Sorrentino

First up is DEATHSTROKE #1 by Andrea Sorrentino. Well, we decided to put the coolest cover right up front for you guys this week. This is amazing. The colors here are fantastic, and the overall cover has an extremely haunting tone to it. While Tony Daniel did a real cool cover himself, this one is tops.

ALL-NEW INVADERS #11 by Michael Komarack

Next is ALL-NEW INVADERS #11 by Michael Komarck. He puts us right in the middle of this awesome fight scene between Jim Hammond and Namor. Komarck captures a fantastic moment here and his art looks fantastic.

CATWOMAN #35 by Joshua Middleton

Next up is the Halloween variant to CATWOMAN #35 by Joshua Middleton. DC's themed monthly variants have hit or miss but this one is not only a ton of fun but looks great. The color palate is simple but really hits the feeling of "Halloween" home.

DELINQUENTS #3 by Paolo Rivera

Finally, here's DELINQUENTS #3 by Paolo Rivera. Valiant always knows how to have a ton of fun with their covers and characters. Rivera delivers fans a straight-forward, fun cover that sells a lot about the comic book and the characters contained within.

Twitter Pick: DEATHSTROKE #1 by Tony Daniel and Sandu Florea

You guys picked Twitter Pick: DEATHSTROKE #1 by Tony Daniel and Sandu Florea. Remember how I mentioned this cover earlier? Well, you guys picked it! This is a totally awesome piece filled with a ton of detail. This is the Deathstroke fans deserve.

I need that deathstroke cover by Sorrentino.

Not gonna deny, art of Tony Daniel Deathstroke is Amazing but I do feels people overrate that first issue of Deathstroke so much. That just me

That sorrentino cover is life.

I liked Multiversity's cover a lot.

Man! I had no idea Andrea Sorrentino had done a Deathstroke cover. That is damn beautiful.

And is just me or has the strange look about the fingers on the Tony Daniel's cover been touched up? Not complaining or knocking Daniel, just an observation.

I've never heard of Michael Komarack but I'd be lying if I said that Invaders covers wasn't stellar.

And my twitter pick was up there too! Love that Delinquents cover.

All in all, solid choices this week Mat!

Damn. Feel like I haven't seen a Middleton cover in ages.

Sorrentino, well that's just dirty of him to produce to the rest of the mortals.

Really love the Deathstroke covers and the Invaders one.

I love the Sorrentino Deathstroke cover. It is immaculate. The Tony Daniel one on the other hand, isn't great imo. I generally like his art but I'm not overly fond of that cover.

That Invaders cover is incredibly beautiful.

I like the Deathstroke variant. That's awesome. But I kinda liked the aquaman Halloween variant also wish it made the cut.

I love that there are already explanations why the covers are the best ones. At least I know why Catowman and The Delinquents are on the list.

I love me some Rivera art and that Invaders cover is beautiful

I just love the design of all the Wicked + Divine covers. Hope they don't stray from this formula (other than variants).

My choice

People at twitter must haven't seen many covers from this week. Deathstroke #1 is not even close to being a great cover. Now the Deathstroke variant cover is amazing.

@_andy_can: That cover didn't came out this week. That came months ago. But still, it's good.

He s actually a very well known artist from Magic the gathering! I was quite surprise to see his work in the comic book world! He s an awesome artist and I hope he does more work with comic books! :)

These are nice.

The art for the first deathstroke comic on this list has a lot of things going for it that I love. For one, the colors work very well together and I like how they seem transparent as the American Flag is in the background. The title being in white really pops out. Kudos to Andrea Sorrentino for making this.
