Spinning off of my "worst comic book based movie contest" results posted on my blog http://www.comicvine.com/forums/gen-discussion-1/the-worst-comic-book-movie-in-the-world-1st-annual-1505633/#0 here are the losers of the first round of 128 comic based movies.. these 64 movies have...Qualified, to take place in the Best Comic Based Movie Contest. like the sister contest, this is single elimination tournament, where the first round (the previously mentioned) was based on random pairings of the movies and the movies than placed into brackets for the following rounds to follow. @extremis this is what you were waiting for.

this first round, is technically the second. so vote for the best, and first to eight wins. (and progressively more until the end, which may not have a vote limit, but a time limit.)

Yeah probably The Dark Knight or Avengers. I made a thread a wile back Avengers vs Dark Knight, and Dark Knight smashed the Avengers. Who knows? Comic readers may not like Dark Knight because it "messed with the source material" "Jokers voice was weird and he wore makeup" "Bane wasn't bane" "They killed off 2 face" And those are real complaints I have found on the Vine.

Iron Man.

The Dark Knight will win this.

Like I said in the comment before, people may not like it because it differs from the source material. I think if a movie is good, its good, and it doesn't matter weather or not it stayed in line with the source material

@gor724: Movie studios' responsibilities are not to make a 100% faithful adaption of the source material. Its to make a good movie.

The Dark Knight is damn good movie.

4-0

yeah I concur that Nolan, may be a pretty obvious possible winner... but as can be seen with my blog, sometimes its not the winner, but the 2nd third, and 17th place winners, that strike us with shock. or. in other words ...the journey.

well I made of list of movies first to be cut for next year's contest when we have more new movies to add...if this keeps going, we may have to add Surrogates....piety, contrived, but really good.

Spawn. There is nothing wrong with that movie except the CGI technology of the time was garbage.

We need another one with today's technology.

I beg to differ (and usually you and I agree on so much!) - the acting was sub-par and the dialogue was worse. The animated series took the character more seriously than the film (and was bolder in terms of violence, graphicness and basically everything that made Spawn what it was). The clown (can't remember the actors name) was the best part of the film. Even at the time I was disappointed in the movie. And as much as I'd like to see them try again (because let's face it, the source material is pretty awesome) - McFarlane has been raging on about it for so long I doubt anyone will touch it. The guy has zero credibility.

I vote Men in Black as the better film. Enjoyable, good chemistry between the two actors, funny, ok story (for what the film is), good effects and decent acting.

EDIT: LOL - just read the line on the Spawn cover "The Special Effects Movie Event of the Year" and we both think the CGI was bad... talk about ironic.

I vote MIB. I just thought it was a better movie :P
