So now that the initial backlash has ended, what do you guys think?
Ben Affleck's Batman...thoughts?
Not a thing has changed since they first announced this, unless I missed some kind of super exclusive clip that will allow people to make some kind of fair judgement.
I still think he is a bad choice but we will see. Even so there are many people that should've been picked before him.
I personally think he will do great. He definitely doesn't want to ruin another superhero movie so he wouldn't have taken the project on if he didn't think it would work. He looks the part I'm just concerned about his voice. He has the potential to be the best on-screen batman yet.
I have no informed opinion to give at the moment and neither does anyone else on Earth unless they invented time travel.
@joshmightbe: I invented time travel 20 years from now and came back to tell the current me how affleck did.
I think he's a bit skinny and doesn't look like a Bruce Wayne but as far as acting goes, I don't think he's that bad. We'll have to wait and see.
@matthewparker: Have a cookie
@joshmightbe: thanks....? I don't really know what that means. Lol
Nick cage ghost rider
thats all that is needed to say.
He'll do good.
I like him as an actor, but I feel like he won't be able to fit the persona of Bruce Wayne/Batman very well. But we'll see, I'll give him a shot.
Can't tell for sure until his actual performance.
Didn't people criticize the casting choice for Michael Keaton back in the 1980s?
I remember when Daniel Craig was getting hate for being the next Bond, then it turned out he was one of the best Bonds ever. So you can't really judge till you see him.
In my opinion i believe Affleck can pull it off. I was never really a fan of his until i watched the town. If you haven't seen the town, give it a go. It might change your mind about his acting prowess.
No, but honestly, he clearly has the acting chops and the image of a VERY respectable Bruce Wayne. With voice modulation, I'd say he'll own the role, surprise us all, and serve a credible asset to DC's Universe :)
@matthewparker: you're new here but you always have the best questions, so props.
I wasn't pumped about it. Hated it initially. But I'm a contrarian so when people started piling on the hate, I decided I wanted to put my faith in him again.
But, realistically, I still want Josh Brolin as a grizzled Bruce Wayne. Oh, well. A man can dream.
@extremis: wow thanks man, that's really nice of you to say.

just being honest good sir
Also, you should pick an avatar. That way I can more easily tell if its you. You'd be surprised how lazy you can become on here. That little picture goes a long way. Plus, it gives you some swag which does wonders with the ladies (I haven't gotten any phone numbers yet)
@extremis: haha ok, I'll pick one tomorrow!

Hello, friend! Where ever you are, I hope you enjoyed his portrayal of Batman!
He plays a good Bruce Wayne but his fight scenes were complete crap, slow and bumbly. I can't blame affleck, you can only really blame the choreographer. Batman is supposed to be a a master martial artist and in the film he looked like a typical brawler tbh. Nothing special

Considering how mediocre the movie versions of Batman have always been, I'd say that Affleck's Batman was kinda superior, even though flawed. Had Snyder not decided to make him kill(and if the overall plot was smarter), he would've been a perfect and accurate live-action take. Still, the fight scenes and the way he went to take on a superpowered being on his own make him my personal favourite. I liked his brutality too but only if the destruction caused by him could've been avoided... Christian Bale in Batman Begins was the closest live action take we've gotten to Batman but he became a mediocre character in TDK and TDKR. Keaton on the other hand was interesting but still nothing special. West has been the only accurate take on Batman (considering that time).

Remind me to never, ever take your opinion as worth listening to about any topic, ever.

If you honestly think any of his fight scenes in the movie were worth watching, than your opinion is already disregarded and can't be taken seriously anyway
