Batman, however it was very close for me... as a kid i liked Superman more, but as i grew up, Batman TAS became my favorite.

Spiderman and I love Batman

underrated is The Batman, much better then both

#8 Posted by Crash_Recovery (855 posts) - - Show Bio

I enjoyed both as a kid, but if you rewatch either as you get older, Batman TAS really holds up a lot better.

Batman TAS was the better series...I loved the 1st season of Spider-Man, but after that it kinda lost me. The crazy thing is out of that entire run, I don't think Spidey actually threw a punch in a fight. Still till this day I don't know what that was about, that's what bugs me the most about that series!

One was a revolutionary show with powerful imagery, themes, metaphors and action, that revived Batman to a new audience

The other was a lackluster show with horrible animation, soap opera language, heavily censored and is liked today more out of nostalgia than anything else

Batman stomps...hard.

Batman TAS

However, for me personally, Spider-Man TAS is still my favorite animated effort featuring Spidey.

Batman TAS is still my favorite ALL time animated series, and more than that it's the show that got me into comics in the first place as a kid. (that and the spawn movie :p)

Now that i look back i can see Spider-man had potential but it was the animation that drew me off. I didn't like alot of the characterizations, i felt some were off or way to cheesy.

Batman TAS stories and animation were so good it even won an Emmy!

Spider-man was cool as a kid, but i look back at both of them an Batman hands down was the better series.

Although i would gladly hear a counter argument on how Spider-man was better..but I doubt anyone would convince me lol

Batman

#23 Posted by Dracade102 (8452 posts) - - Show Bio

Batman, easily. Spider-man was seriously watered down as far as it's potential was. Plus, the story telling was pretty choppy too. I mean, Doc Ock being the Kingpin's goon? The Insidious Six? Electro being the Red Skull's son? That is not the road to go down if you just don't want to stay true to the comics...

#24 Posted by Crash_Recovery (855 posts) - - Show Bio

@SHAZAM117: I just remember lots and lots of 6 to 13 part stories that were ambling, meandering, and full of far too many characters.

Those concepts didn't play out as well in the weekly serialized format, since, as a kid, you couldn't exactly control your parents plans for the weekend to make sure you were home to watch it.

Batman TAS was one of the best (and arguably the best) superhero cartoon ever. Batman stomps.

Batman TAS.

#31 Posted by Liara (433 posts) - - Show Bio

Batman TAS

It's also my favorite superhero animated series

#32 Posted by mpierce2690 (331 posts) - - Show Bio

Batman was obviously the best series, but each one of those animated showed really brought something to their respective franchises I felt.

I think about how the Venom introduction on Spiderman TAS gave us a such better story than the Secret Wars one. I think Superman TAS introduced several elements that even the comics added in, ala Harley Quinn in Batman TAS. And I for one will always hold a little fire for Bats/WW idea introduced on Justice League TAS.

#33 Posted by Aiden Cross (15726 posts) - - Show Bio

Batman! Just the intro was already more epic!

#34 Posted by tg1982 (2767 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm a Marvel fan all the way. So obviously I'm going to say Batman TAS was better, by far, but I liked them both.

DC seems to do better animated series and T.V. series, while Marvel seems to do better movies. Marvel was making up some ground with Avengers: EMH but then well, that decided not to anymore.

Batman TAS was, is, and will ever be an absolute masterpiece.

Yes. BTAS is overrated, while Spider-man is the greatest of all time. If it isn't, it's at least in the top 3.

Even if that was true, It's still a matter of opinion and it wouldn't make any sense for this thread to be locked.
