Astonishing X-Men or New X-Men

So I am fairly new with comics (I've read a few classics such as V for Vendetta, Watchmen; I've read a lot of Batman; and I just ventured into 100 Bullets) and X-Men has been one of my all time biggest interests. I loved the cartoon as a kid and the movies weren't too bad either. I plan on starting with either New X-Men or Astonishing X-Men. Which do you think would be better for jumping on?

Both are great but I prefer Astonishing due to much better art. I can´t stand Frank Quitely´s art, it´s awful.
