the way i read it was that warner were the ones that wanted dicaprio for riddler. yeah, it's hard to follow up ledger's joker with riddler. even if they had gone with arkham city's riddler which was just outstanding.
i wish they would make a young avengers show or animated film, especially if it was handled right. however, they probably wouldn't because some jerks out there would make a fuss about wiccan and hulkling or something.
Nolan said that he wanted to challenge Batman on a different level than the Joker. Begins was Batman being challenged on a 'fear' level, Dark Knight was him being challenged on a 'code/psychological' level, Rises was him being challenged on a 'physical' level. He said that they had yet to have someone who could go up against Batman head-to-head. Riddler was too similar to the Joker.
I should note that there was a bit more meant to be at the end (hence the sorta strange outro). The footage got a little messed up so I'll have to re-answer those questions next week. :(

I love the "Gorillaz" statues G-Man has in the case. ;3
I know right. I love Gorillaz.
It would be nice to see Riddler star in a Bat-Film again to challenge Batman mentally. Would be great to see his female bodyguards, Query & Echo, too.
I think Justin Jordan should write Action comics. he did an amazing job on hack/slash, and his book The Strange Talent of Luther Strode. He now is doing Team 7, which i have high hopes for.
The rumor was WB was pushing for Nolan to include The Riddler in TDKR. To which Nolan responded, "...Meh."
@sithfrog: I buy all the single issues (plus an extra copy for Vinny from Giant Bomb). When it comes out in hardcover, I buy it again.
@G-Man: It was Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures that suggested Leonardo DiCaprio as the Riddler but Christopher Nolan said no.
