Epic beard is gone!

For my money WW's arch nemesis is Ares, he is the reason the amazons ended up where they were and is more or less her opposite in every way...and unlike all the human adversaries, he can go toe to toe with her.

Thank you very much for answering my question.

Since characters like Thor and Hulk have bee introduced into the Cinematic Universe it would be perfectly plausible that Iron Man would fight someone with super powers instead of another armoured individual.

G-man, I like your definition of art.

Also, Greg Land should be off all comic artist rosters

With the terrible mood I've been in the past two days. I need a good laugh.

My mom went to Hawaii in the Spring, She said the seafood back home never tasted teh same after she had seafood there.

I never watched HAWAII 5.0. At least the new one. Which is surprising since I adore Grace Park. I have ever since BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.

Greg Land just repeats his own work too much. I remember one time I saw him draw three women walking into a room. All three hand their hands on their hips and the exact same smile. No one outside of a ZZ Top video walks into a room like that. The fact you've never seen Greg Land makes me wonder if there even is a Greg Land.

#12 Posted by capfan80 (348 posts) - - Show Bio

Wouldn't Wonder Woman's nemesis be Circe? That seems to be the way DC has been going.

#13 Posted by windcaster (227 posts) - - Show Bio

G-Man who do you think is the most underrated Avenger and why?

#14 Posted by EdwardWindsor (14029 posts) - - Show Bio

Heres a few questions for you Gman

  • Who was your favorite horseman of the apoclypse and why?
  • Do you think we will ever see Captain Britain appear in marvel ciniverse
  • With the end of the Bale/Nolan Batman team coming up with Dark Knight Rises do you think a Batman beyond film franchise would work to follow
  • Do you think Sci fi and horror comics are overlooked compared to their more main stream counterparts.

After looking at that picture (willingly or unwillingly) of Plastic man mooning, I can TOTALLY understand how a woman (who likes men and/or is a feminist or supports their ideals) feels when watching at covers like this:

I mean, I vaguely understood it, since it felt a bit awkward to me too (as a man), but whn you look at a pic like that, I can really understand.

Its funny, I didnt even know about the Greg Land controversy, I was reading Avenging Spider-man and then the art changed to something I didnt like and the artist was listed as Greg Land, so I disliked him before you pointed this out.

Iron Man needs a non-suited/robot villain -YES! And ASGARD!!!

PS. We missed You!

It's from Chris Giarrusso. He did it one year for a Christmas Card. Also did an IMAGE version. You can find 'em here:

SPOILER about CAPTAIN AMERICA!

@G-Man:

On the Captain America commentary the director said during the scene where Bucky was rescued and where he died that Bucky clearly didn't die and was clearly experimented on because he becomes the Winter Soldiers, so they had to set that up. So we will eventually see that.

Hopefully we never see Sentry. Ever. Again.

And I'm completely with you about Iron Man 3. He needs to be pitted against a non-armored villain. Mandarin would be the ideal choice (especially since the rumor is extensive filming is taking place in China). Heck, I'd even take Fin Fang Foom, but he'd have to get a major update... More like his appearance in Iron Man: Viva Las Vegas.

I agree. I thought he was a flat character that they tried to force an interesting concept on. He was overpowered and no one had a clue of how to use him as a character.

Welcome back thanks for another great "Ask..." Hope your vacation was awesome!

I agree, where is Nova?? Great stuff as always!

#35 Posted by EvanTheMexiJew (99 posts) - - Show Bio

@G-Man I happen to own the first issue of Venom signed by Stan Lee, and your advice on the signed comic 100% helped me decide not to sell it. I'm tight for money but I honestly love that issue, so I've decided to keep it. Thanks.

#36 Posted by Oakson (2 posts) - - Show Bio

wasn't Nova trapped in the Cancerverse with Thanos?

#37 Posted by G-Man (29479 posts) - - Show Bio

@Oakson: Yeah, he's supposedly 'dead' but this is comics books we're talking about. He's too good of a character to be dead.

Thank you answering my question! :-)

My nephew went ballistic when he heard my nick mentioned and you mentioned his question and answered it. The debate is now somewhat closed.

Very cool of you to make someone's nephew happy. Many thanks again!

I always thought people's problem with Greg Land was that every single woman is a 24 super model who just got a boob job....

When I was first getting into comics I actually freakin loved Greg Lands art on that arc of Ultimate Fantastic Four (I actually still do). The only women in that arc were the 2 versions of Sue storm and her mother so maybe that's why I didn't really take any notice of all women looking the same in his books...

His art in Uncanny X-men has wrecked the series for me :/

My issue with Greg Land is not so much the aesthetic of his art, there are times I actually enjoy it (and I prefer him to Dodson). It's the ethics of what he does. There are numerous documented instances of him tracing. I'm not even talking about supermodel pictures and porn and what have you, but of tracing actual other artist's work.

@G-Man - Can You PLEASE answer a question that has been unanswered for over 30 yrs. When the SENTINELS made their Debut in X-Men #14 they were coloured (the recognised) Purple and Mauve BUT in #15 and #16 They Are Gold, Red and Purple - Was #14 a mistake - which they corrected in #15 and #16 - BUT Feedback was so great they decided to go with the Purple and Mauve when NEAL ADAMS introduced the MK II's.

Subsequently, 1994 to be precise - on the back cover of T.O.M.I.T.T. X-MEN - Sentinel is depicted in the Gold, Purple and Red AND in 1995 on the reprint of the ORIGINAL run, they are depicted Throughout in the Gold, Purple and Red - WAS this purely Nostalgia OR an Attempt to correct a 47 yr old Mistake.

There is Only ONE Survivor of the QUINtessencial team that worked on the Introductory story of the SENTINELS - Unfortunately the rigours of time have left Him unable to shed any light on the mystery.

Dammit - Have I answered my own question ?!?

I have several issues signed by Jason Aaron and to me they are priceless because he is one of my favorite writers (I love Wolverine and The X-Men!). I have met him twice and he is very nice and polite guy. But I have no intention of selling them unless when I am retired and I need money!
