Are there any black DC superheros with a solo?

( I can believe black panther does not have a solo). But im talking about dc. I mean im not trying to start anything, im just asking this cause im curious. I dont think cyborg has anything beside the JL. Man now that i think about DC does not even have that many black A B or C list characters. But if there are any please let me know and tell me if its good. O and 1 last thing

Currently Batwing has his own solo, though his title is going to end soon though. Impressive nonetheless considering the sales of the book was always low but still managed to make it this far.

They all get cancelled due to low sales. Seems someone isn't doing their collective jobs.

Static and I think Black Lightning had a solo series.

But they took the time to make a girl like her and instead of giving her to some1 new they give her to aquaman? I know they are not together but still.

And also who does my dawg cyborg have...thats right no one. I like DC better but i gotta say marvel handles their character diversity waaaayyyy better.

Flash has 2 possible girls.

Aquaman has mera. YA'wara Is a teammate of his.

Cyborg had a girl. But he's hardly used. There's no problem. If you like black characters, just be happy ya'wara is here.

Also - characters don't NEED to be in a love-based relationship to be entertaining. Your fictional "dawg" Cyborg doesn't NEED a girlfriend nor does Ya'wara need a boyfriend.

They had a lot of solos about black heroes at the start of the New 52..... but fans didn't show enough support, and a lack of sales got all of them canceled. You can still go back and read them though.

Also issue #27-29 of Justice League is a Cyborg story (and a very good one)

No black solos?! Wait, how about we give one to a Oriental character for a change.

@demonknights: Yeah, I was thinking along the lines of Cass Cain types. Ya know, Oriental characters who actually matter. Of course making a new hero would be great too.

Jaime Reyes blue beetle and Kyle rayner are both Hispanic and had a solo book. That's off top of the head. Bunkers in the titans...

Batwing had an ongoing for almost 3 years and got cancelled recently, that's impressive considering it was one of the lowest selling titles of DC.

green lantern corps mainly focuses on John Stewart, iron patriot has his own book and of course batwing.

Why doesn't Static have a comic?? I'm pretty sure he has a big enough fan base to keep sells decent

@knightfall225: The most recent series didn't sell well. It started at 34,004 copies and ended with #8 at 10,102 copies.

I don't know much about him. Would there be any reason why he would be a better seller now?

@v_scarlotte_rose: I think he means that Ya'Wara puts Wonder Woman to shame based on their looks and appearance. But yea I thought a Static comic would sell better considering he had his own tv show for awhile

He had one but it wasnt very good so fans didnt buy it and it got canceled.

@knightfall225: the rumor is that DC lost the rights to the milestone characters... DC hasn't bothered to give an explanation.

She's possibly the most attractive female character I've ever seen. I'm gonna go read Aquaman now lol

I know there have been some in the past mostly from Milestone such as Static, Icon, Hardware. Then there were some straight from DC such as the Azrael series with Michael Lane, Orpheus had a mini series, Black Lightning I hear had a series, Batwing currently but that's not going on much longer, they did start the New 52 with a Mr. Terrific series that didn't go too far, I'm pretty sure John Stewart may of have been the focal point of the Green lantern series at one time. But I can't think of much else.

DC I feel doesn't have enough solo series for Black Superheroes, and they do have some that would make for some interesting stories, such as Bloodwynd a character who gets his powers from a cursed gem that carries the souls of his dead enslaved ancestors, I really would like to see Icon make a come back, same with Michael Lane as Azrael, and Static should get his own series again.
