No. If you don't like it. Then don't read that sort of superhero. It is as simple as that.
Sure. I think Monet St. Croix is a good example of a character that is "too super". Her powerset is a little over the top but she is still a great character.

They arent "too super" because they supose to be like that. Superman is suposed to be most powerful being on Earth, while Wonder Woman is suposed to be most powerful female on Earth and Shazam gets his power from the greek gods/ heroes so he also should be powerful. Less Powerful powerhouses like The Flash, Starfire, Laterns and there is less powerful heroes and very skilled heroes and often wildcards like Zatanna, Black Canary, Black Lightning. Skilled heroes like Batman, Batgirl/Oracle, Nightwing, Red Hood, Green Arrow and Arsenal.
I don't mind really powerful heroes, but I prefer it when there's a good reason for their power. Superman being an alien, in my opinion, isn't a great idea for how he gets his powers. If somebody is going to be that strong, I would rather they have a more original cause for there abilities instead of it just being in their species genes. Also, if a hero is really powerful then they have to constantly hold back because they often don't fight other people on their level which can get a bit boring after a while.
@loplopool: weight is the acceleration of mass due to gravity
since superman is on earth I think he would be lifting the mass of earth that has weight relative to earths gravitation
Btw dies the earth weigh something in space? Beacuse surely it would be alot lighter

He didn't lift Earth exactly, he just bench-pressed some sort of machinery that weighted the same.
yeah, that needs to go away.

Plus the gravitation pull of the Sun would make it hard to push the Earth beyond Pluto, even by Superman's strength it should be tough. The Earth is also rotation incredibly fast, so it wouldn't be easy.
