Everything I have seen looks abysmal and if they screw with continuity I'll find it hard to read even the older issues as they will have ceased to matter just as post Flashpoint DC has.
Anyone else going to stop reading Marvel?
I haven't read anything since May as it stands now. I probably wouldn't stop reading older back issues and trades but could easily not pick up another new title ever again. "Ending" their multiverse prior to the Secret Wars event doesn't JUST make for a convenient jumping on point for new readers.
Looking at the line-up of characters post-secret wars and the obvious continuations of pre-secret wars plotlines, I really doubt they erase continuity.
I haven't read anything Marvel in months, and there's only one All-New title that really interests me.
If they just mix things up a little it will be fine but a full or even partial continuity reboot would be a deal breaker for me. and as for waiting to see how "good" the new stuff is, that does not matter as history, characterization, and continuity are about 85% of why i read these books to begin with. And for the record I'm not someone who attacks everything Marvel does but i feel that a reboot is kind of a spit in the face to invested fans.
this article sums up how i feel pretty well.

@madtitan2112: Nice article.
I guess Marvel is going in the direction of becoming a movie company (and computer games) rather than a comics company, because movies is where the big $$$ is. And movie people need a simpler more static, less crazy, more politically correct, universe than comics people. So they are changing the cmovs to fit with the movies, and the comics are more going to be a sort of drawing board to test storylines, and then they can pick the best ones for the movies and games.
The people that wantch the movies don't care at all if it's the same Spiderman all the way back to 1961. It's just not a thing for them. The same with Iceman becoming gay - the people wathing don't know his comic romantic history, so it's just not a problem for them with his past girlfriends.
Already stopped awhile back. Might come back if they stop doing dumb things.
I know I am dropping the main spiderman titles I have for sure. I like the new fun way they were taking it until this whole secret War thing happened. As for the X-Men, if the Story arc interest me I'll continue to pick it up. I like All New X-Men.
As for Avengers, I'll have to see how it turns out before I pick it up again.
The constant events and filler issues has made me drop most of it already. I still get ant man and Hawkeye...i think that's it. I don't see any reason to drop those right now.
I stopped awhile ago. Sticking to trades of older stories as far as Marvel is concerned. Though, I will be getting X Men 92.
Nah, I learned after my DC boycott that I shouldn't punish the good writers and good books because of the poor choices of the company. A good story is a good story regardless of continuity (and almost every story will fall out of continuity eventually). So, I'll continue buying Marvel stuff as long as they put out something worth buying.
Yeah, I can cut out the middle man an just funnel my own sh*t through my eyes, don't have to pay Marvel for that.
When you officially make declarations of boycotting is when you officially take yourself too seriously imo.
@madtitan2112: And here I was, a proud DC guy, about to give some marvel #1s a chance...
Secret Wars has been great so far, I'm enjoying it and I don't think Marvel is rebooting, everything that happened Pre-Secret Wars still stands I believe.
