There has been some speculation about who Colm Feore will play in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and now ComicBookMovie claims they know that and a whole lot more about Spidey's sequel. According to the site, Feore will play as Adrian Toomes aka Vulture aka the awesome guy who hit Spider-Man with the infamous loop-the-loop.

If you want to avoid potential plot spoilers, now is the time to leave.

Gone? Good.

The website says Toomes will possibly team-up with Green Goblin, Electro and Rhino to form the Sinister Six in the third film -- they're unaware who the remaining two characters could be if this does happen. Additionally, they're saying Parker will indeed fight the Green Goblin in the second movie and it could conclude with the death of Gwen Stacy. Seeing as Emma Stone was spotted wearing the same clothing the comic book character died in, I'd say it's a strong possibility.

What do you think of this, Viners? Is the film getting too crowded or do you think director Marc Webb has a solid plan for these characters and will juggle them well?

Vulture's a hard sell for me. He can fly! He wears green! He's bald! I've always thought of him as the least threatening rouge in Spidey's world and adding another character to the mix will only serve to pull the focus off of other characters. (see Spider Man 3)

The problem with Spider Man 3 was that they had three villains. This movie expects to pull off 6 in one movie? Insane!

I'm cool with this; But i wish they'd save Green Goblin for the Third film....

Too many villains. How are they going to develop any of the characters? I understand they are fodder for Spidey's webs and fists but still...I hope this movie is good. Maybe they are going to try and just make it more of an action film opposed to a drama with subpar action like the first film. We'll see.

All the behind the scenes photo's and video clips I've seen of this movie being filmed look's EPIC! I hope Sony goes big with this one.

I doubt they will bring green goblin in beyond a he is created at the end of the film. In that way he kinda brings those who were beaten in the first two movies to try and take down spidey. Green Goblin going "You failed as individuals, but together we can beat spider-man". Plus I think Webb is screwing with us by putting Stacy in that outfit, since all the fans pounced on it so fast. Why would you let the fans ruin it by spoiling it? I could be wrong though.

The problem wasn't only the number of villains but the fact that the movie could have easily been split into two halves (Black Suit Spidey fights his personality and Snadman, then Spidey fights Venom and tries to put his life back on track).

I've been thinking Sin6 since they first announced Rhino and Electro. Figure even though they are from the first setf movies everyone knows who Doc Oct and Sandman are now so that would round out the bunch for ASM3

Venom in the 3rd for the sinister 6. Didn't they already tease us with a black suit logo??? They could bring the Lizard back since he's not dead.

Reminds me of another Spider-Man movie...

@jedixman: I agree. I think it's getting a little crowded.

Sinister Six would be awesome. I'm hoping that the only villains to actually fight in this movie are Electro and Rhino though. Seeing "how" and "if" they can balance all these enemies in the sequel will be incredibly interesting.

#27 Posted by frozenedge (1154 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm assuming people didn't notice it said the Sinister Six would possibly be forming in the third film, not this second film coming up. Toomes would more likely just have a cameo appearance in the upcoming sequel instead of actually being the Vulture this time

#28 Posted by Miss_Garrick (1757 posts) - - Show Bio

Comic book movies SHOULD NOT have more than 2 villains per film. However since they are purposely bringing in the sinister six, it just might, MIGHT work. I will be dubious however.

#29 Posted by theTimeStreamer (2841 posts) - - Show Bio

the amazing spider-man franchise............. we only use villains nobody cares about. myes be excited.

#30 Posted by LimpoyzLoan (1630 posts) - - Show Bio

@ultrastarkiller: Oh come on, it wasn't that bad. Sure, it kind of had a mediocre script, but the only part that was really atrocious was the dance scene.

I'm really excited for this movie!! It's gonna be so long though.

#32 Posted by RedheadedAtrocitus (6885 posts) - - Show Bio

Yeahhhh for some reason it seems they are taking on WAY too much for this with so many villains. Hope I can be proven wrong though and this turns out just fine.

#33 Posted by GodDamnIronMan (1553 posts) - - Show Bio

4 villains?! too many, see what Spiderman 3 did, unless Sony plans on doing spinoff for Sinister Six.

#34 Posted by GREGalicious (473 posts) - - Show Bio

@teamunitednerds:

It wasn't the fact that it had 3 villains. The problem was it had 3 POORLY handled villains. The largely silent Lady Deathstrike from X-Men 2 had more spark in her character than all 3 of the villains combined in Spidey 3. It also didn't help that the villains from the first two Spidey films were so well written.

#35 Posted by TeamUnitedNerds (402 posts) - - Show Bio

6. 6 villains will be in this movie.

Why can't Howard the Duck be in this movie as Spidey's sidekick?

#37 Posted by ZZoMBiE13 (675 posts) - - Show Bio

Ugh. I didn't like ASM. And I can't help but fear for a movie that seems to be building a toy line rather than building characters. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I've yet to see anything that makes me think I'll enjoy the second one more than the first.

I do like the Vulture though. Always thought he was interesting.

#38 Edited by GothamRed (2562 posts) - - Show Bio

so is everyone in this movie? did they feel they wouldn't make it past 2 so they're putting everyone in this one?

#39 Edited by Neon_Jackal (46 posts) - - Show Bio

You can't have the Sinister Six without Doc Ock, also, this movie will probably suck just as bad as the last one :(

Hurry and stop making Spider-man movies so we can get a New Avengers movie or something.

I don't care if it's the sinister six if they fuck it up then it's useless to me lol. They have to introduce and develop ALL of these new characters in one movie, they barely introduced sandman and venom in one movie and the new goblin was developed over the span of 3 films....this sounds like it's going to be a cluster f*ck but oh well

are they even made by the same people.....?

#43 Edited by Neon_Jackal (46 posts) - - Show Bio

@w0nd: I think Sony owns the film rights to Spider-man as long as they keep making them(which seems to be the only reason they keep making them, they do make money after all, even if they are bad), if they stop, after a certain amount of time the rights go back to Marvel and then they could integrate Spidey into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with The Avengers and stuff.

The reason Spider-Man 3 was crap was because it had a crap director not because it had to many bad gys

#48 Edited by Neon_Jackal (46 posts) - - Show Bio

@jonny_anonymous: Sam Raimi is not a crap director.

The reason Spider-man 3 was so awful was because Sam didn't have enough creative control and was forced to include Venom, that's why he didn't come back for a fourth movie, and why most of the actors left with him.
