Best known for his work on Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story as well as last year's surprise hit, We're The Millers, This is Infamous is now reporting that Thurber has turned down the opportunity to direct Marvel's upcoming flick

Dont know how they'll keep the July 17,2015 release. If they push it back too much it'll collide with Star Wars.I think they want to keep to their 2 movies a year schedule.

I wouldn't want to direct Ant-Man.

thats like trying to direct children of huron, no one but the nerd community would know anything about it, which means your tiny audience is going to be EXTREMELY critical

Whoever directs this movie is gonna make his career. People are stupid for turning this down.

guess Marvel wants Ant-Man to be a comedy...

usually go to all cbm's and keep and open mind but they're making it pretty hard here.

I've been less and less excited for this since Wright left. I'm not all that knowledgeanle about directors in Hollywood but I'm smart enough to know that once people who have been devoted to the project for years start leaving then something is up

I really don't see what the big deal is. This kind of stuff happens all the time. Usually, Marvel plays closer to the vest. I'm surprised we knew who they were looking at and who was passing.

Maybe they should stop asking comedy directors.

Getting kind of worried about this movie here...hope they find a good director soon. I really want Avengers 2 and Ant-Man to release in the same summer

Why are they going after comedy directors? Isn't this supposed to be a heist film?

This would probably be because no one wants to see a movie about Ant-Man.

Just sayin'.

Maybe not that many directors are familiar with character and don't think they would portray him accurately. The only person I know who does not care about character accuracy is M. Night samamalala. *Aang not Aung*

precisely my point, it would be an awesome fangasm...but nothing more, which is why it compares to the current situation so well. (that and the whole having the entire made up of audience of nothing but harsh critics, because us nerds were the only ones that showed up)

Agreed. What I don't get is that the previous director was working on the project since 2006, so how Marvel took too long to say something about the direction of film baffles me -______-
