HECK YES!!!!
Best part of the original Spider-Man franchise.
I see no other J. Jonah Jameson.
He was really great and I don't think it would detract to have him in ASP2, however I doubt it'll happen. This is a new universe, I welcome a change of actor for the role.
You couldn't CGI a better Jameson! He's everything my imagination thought he would be.
J.K. Simmons is a delight in any role he plays, and J.J.J is one of his best.
... Wait, I thought that the comic character was based on the real J Jonah Jameson... That was an actor! No way! But seriously, he ought to reprise his role as Jameson. I swear Simmons was born for that role.
I hope not. This is a new series with a new feel. I enjoyed him a lot in the other films, but he's not a great fit for the new series.
Additionally, I'm not sure the Daily Bugle as a whole is a relevant concept anymore. We're in a age where print is dying rapidly. Why is a Millennial like Peter Parker hawking his photos to an institution from a different age rather than to a Gawker-esque blog? (just a thought)
Without a doubt yes. He's one of the redeeming aspects of the Ultimate Spider-Man show that has me chuckling every-time he appears.
Newspapers may be a dying breed, but they still exists, and somebody's selling them pictures. It still amazes me how spot-on the casting for the original trilogy was for everyone EXCEPT Peter and MJ. I would love to see him back. If not at the DAily Bugle, then as Mayor Jameson.
@Pyrogram:
What about Bryan Cranston? He could easily play J. Jonah Jameson.
Bryan Cranston as... The Shocker!
Sorry - brain fart. Meant to say Bryan Cranston as... Electro! (... Doesn't really carry the same weight as an actual audible pause, does it?)
Yes, he was absolutely perfect as J.J.J.
He's annoying enough for the character, he's proven that.
I can see why they might not want to bring him in; having actors in common with the old movies could confuse things. But he was too great in the role for me to not want him back.
