I know the trailer is awesome but with superman in it the trailer makes it seem like their doing the same dark and brooding thing again with superman. also batman looks like he snaps a guys neck in a scene and batman isn't supposed to kill. one thing I worried about when hearing batman was gonna be brought onto a Zack Snyder film. does DC really have to make all their characters dark and brooding?
Am I the only one who thinks BvS looks too dark?
Yes. Yes you are. Dark is good. Superman doesn't brood, he just isn't always in a bright mood. He still inspires hope though.
Lex Luthor doesn't seem to be dark and brooding. "The red capes are coming!"
Dark does not = Good. Massive mistake to ever think that, but the trailer fits the tone of their other movie properties, so you are either on board or not at this point.
What do you want from the film? I don't understand why people say it's too dark.
Get out

It's not dark, it's serious, and that's the tone the movie is going for. It's fine. And not all DC films will be like it.
@darthben: too dark?? Are you kidding me??
marvel has been running the light hearted thing for years now and no one cries about them being "too light". DC puts out a trailer to their second film in the DCEU and suddenly it's too dark?? Superman isn't silver age anymore, he isnt all lollipops and candy, batman killing wasn't even exclusively shown in the trailer but even if he did, would that drastically affect his character portrayal in the movie?
besides it weren't even that dark, it was just more defined and realistic
You are certainly not the only one who thinks the movie might be too dark.
I personally don’t mind, I love dark movies =)
Just because it's not bright like Marvel that doesn't make it too dark. And if you ask me the Batman snapping neck scene doesn't look like Ben Affleck.
This.
cuz they're serious...............but really they shouldn't make shazam or green lantern dark
Flash too.
It's not dark, it's serious.
Yeah this. The only dark aspect about it is probably the darker costumes. :p.

I don't care if a movie is dark (I actually prefer it that way) what matters is if the dark tone is justified. In MoS it never really made sense....but BvS has Batman who's character is inherently dark for the most part and the film it seems is going to go into a lot of dark places so this time around it might work really well.

Batman kills In the movies all the time.
While the Lois Lane ending scene ruins everything about this movie and tAmes away from the impact of Pa's death, Superman CAN and DOES work well in dark moments. He just has to be the light that guides the way.

They're not.

Do you really think they're gonna have the most popular comic character brought to the big screen and have him be a killer? Get outta here.
one thing I worried about when hearing batman was gonna be brought onto a Zack Snyder film.
Well, it's not going to happen. So worry no more.
does DC really have to make all their characters dark and brooding?
Of course they don't. Good thing they're not. Sure BVS and Suicide Squad are going to be a tad darker than you may like your CBMs, but movies like the Flash will have a much lighter tone, and will have jokes and quips and such.
You know, a friend of mine said to me after watching Man of Steel, "If Snyder's idea for Superman consists of him disregarding people in harm's way and snapping the necks of villains, his Batman will probably sit on the top floor of the Wayne Enterprises skyscraper and shoot jaywalkers with a sniper rifle. "
Fast forward a couple years and I see the first trailer of Batman vs Superman. And Batman is on top of a tower. Holding a sniper rifle.
Little did he know...
@redatom1234: First of all, Marvels Daredevil is far darker than anything DCs done.
Second of all, yes, we should all be looking for realism in movies about invincible flying space gods who shoot laser beams out of their eyes and a guy who dresses up in a bat costume to beat up mentally ill people who wear question marks on their clothing.
First of all maybe you are not alone...but you are certainly minority....
If this trailer did not sold the movie for anyone then there is a clear pic...DC is not your cup of tea better stick to MCU...
Clearly you never made a omelet. If you want your movies to have phrases like that then stick to Marvel/Disney and Pixar's movies.
If you think Ultron is scary, your going to piss your pants at Doomsday.
I can see MCU fans wetting their pants looking at Doomsday/Bizarro or whoever saying:Super Villains aren't supposed to be this powerful and violent.
Their supposed to be lighthearted and make jokes, and lose. They can't beat the Super Hero.
1. actually, it isn't, if you asked me that when the episodes came out, I might have agreed with you but looking over. DC takes the cake in dark.
2. I wasn't talking about that kind of realism. I meant that by the look of the realistic and defined looking costumes, and the real looking world, as out of character as they may look, their presence on that kind of earth isn't like the avengers where they can just jump into things, destruction, death and a lot of different things will happen. It's like I said, DC isn't that dark, they just try to add so e realism....and continuity....because without man of steel, BVSwouldnt make sense, some marvel movies can be watched and still understood to a degree without watching anything prior
cuz they're serious...............but really they shouldn't make shazam or green lantern dark
IMO, Shazam should be lighter towards the beginning when Billy gains his powers, but should take a dark turn with the introduction of Black Adam.
@imperfect_cell: I agree
Jesus, it's not one or the other. Would it really be so painful for a DCEU fan to say that a Marvel movie is good? Would it be so painful for a MCU fan to say the trailer's promising?
Lex Luthor doesn't seem to be dark and brooding. "The red capes are coming!"
I must admit iam a bit disapointed in luther but as long as he goes bald and gets the warsuit it'll be fine.
