I can not really take him seriously, I would prefer a more mature actor , like Daniel Craig because Evans is definitely too childlike
Am I the only one who don't like Chris Evans\ Cap?
I can't either.
His presence isn't commanding enough, his face isn't chiseled enough to fill out the mask, he just doesn't seem tall enough....the bottom line--he just isn't enough.
Although, I should admit I think there is a lot of poor casting in the Marvel studio films. People like Sam Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Idris Elba aren't really playing a character, they are all just playing themselves in costumes.
He doesn't look like a man's man, but he does well with what he's got.
He's a good Cap, not ideal, but he portrays the character well. Craig is like 5'10, he's too short.
the only Marvel casting that I don't really care for is Scarlett Johanson as Black Widow and I didn't start feeling that way until I saw Winter Soldier...her constantly flirting with everyone just didn't sit right with me
yes.
now feel bad.
yeah.
yes.
now feel bad.
@legacy6364: Why not? who you want? Denzel Washington XD?
I would do so many things to Chris Evans....>...>
Er, the only person I don't like in their role is Scarlet, I just feel Black Widow should have a Russian accent.
@legacy6364: Why not? who you want? Denzel Washington XD?
Mark Strong, Russell Crowe, Michael Fassbender, hell Bruce Willis.
Any one not Samuel L Jackson.

you can't take him out, he's the TBG.
I actually hated Chris Evans before Captain America, fully expected him to suck, but he was phenomenal in that movie and has been great in everything else since 2011. Quite a turnaround!

Me too.
I'm neither a gay man or a straight woman.
Yes you are.
@cattlebattle: um what? Samuel Jackson is literally the living Essence of the ultimate nick fury. Robert Downey jr is thee perfect actor for ironman. The only bad casting in 'marvel' movie is hugh jackman as wolverine. Although he's a fantastic actor and has brought the role to life and reprised it, wolverine is supposed to be a short ugly gritty dude not a 6 foot tall stallion of a man. Hugh jackman is beautiful lol wolverine is ugly.
@proto3296: Then you want Paul Giamatti for Wolverine?
While he doesn't have a certain "manliness" to him that Cap often has in the comics, I think every other aspect of Cap he does perfectly.

Tell the box office that one..
Who cares he does a good job playing the role..
Does Christian Balelook like Bruce Wayne.. and do people care.. hell no.. do people care if he's threating like Batman no.. I don't even get chills looking at Christian Bale as Batman.
It's all about the Performance not the looks.

If that's not manly I don't know is.

Ultimate Fury is based on Sam Jackson, that is true, but in the film, he is just Samuel jackson, there is nothing about his performance that makes you think otherwise. Other than the fact that he looks like him...which isn't always an automatic necessity when playing a character, its an advantage, yes, but thats it.
Robert Downey Jr is playing a caricature of himself. If you have ever read an Iron man comic before 2008 you would see. While Tony Stark can be kind of a douche at times he is not constantly snarky and playful with everybody. In fact, over the years some elements of Batman have been cribbed such as Tony Starks persona being a facade and the heroic, selfless, Iron Man persona is his real identity. Again, RDJ just plays himself. I am not saying its bad, RDJ is extremely charismatic and is the lynchpin of the Marvel films, I am saying that he isn't really playing the Iron Man character as much as he is just being himself.
Wolverine isn't an ugly man per se. He is just short and rather bulky. The height thing with Wolverine doesn't bother me as I would imagine you would have a tremendously hard time finding an actor that is 5'5". Hugh Jackman may not be the exact fictional, physical representation of Wolverine, but at least he is playing a character, he understands and can invoke how he thinks Wolverine would react to a situation, because he makes an attempt to study and understand the fictional "Wolverine" character. Do you honestly thin Samuel L Jackson read "The Ultimates"?? He just showed up, read the dialogue exactly in the same manner he preforms it in almost everything else he is in, and collected a paycheck
@cattlebattle: I personally think Samuel did a pretty good job! Maybe not in avengers, but in the winter soldier he did well. I think it's unfair of you to say ironman being RDJ is poor casting just because he doesn't really have to act. He already has the ironman persona if anything it's a perfect cast.

He doesn't really. Again, he is not portraying a character, he is just playing himself. It isn't a terrible thing, I like RDJ. I just think that there is probably a better actor out there for the role. Would that actor have been able to achieve the box office grab Downey did?? Probably not. It would have been cool to see the actual Iron man character from the comics of the 70s and 80s come to life.
