Am I the only one thats not exited for this show? I haven't seen it yet so it might be great, who knows? But by the trailers I'm not exited, it just looks mediocre. I would be more interested if it was about Hawkeye, or Fury, but it seems likes it's going to be dull, it might not be, but thats just what I see. Does anyone else feel this way, or is everyone siked?
Am I the only one not looking forward to Agents of Shield?
I will definitely give it a try. (Actually I just had to change the details of my response because I just found out the black dude isn't Luke Cage). Eh, as long as there's someone with powers in it I have to give it a shot. If it gets too much to be a human-interaction drama (like Smallville), I'm out. I like comic-stuff because it's not like real life.
No dude, you're not the only one.
Yes, I am calling out a certain group of haters :P
Honestly I felt the same way about Arrow but the show turned out to be OK (I mean, besides all the CW crap). Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will probably be the same... I'm mostly excited because there hasn't really been any Film-Television Cinematic Universes in the past (that I know of), so it should be interesting.
I am a little skeptical and see something mediocre with only the benefit of having a few z-list street levellers getting some air time. It could have a smattering of Heroes about it. Bt in fairness when you see them say "From the people that brought you...", then they show you clips from films rather than the characters appearing in the show, then I worry. I think there will be a very rare cameo from a big character to pick up a bit of interest now and again. But this is a low burner to keep enthusiasm going while we wait for the next set of films. It seems a little like an Apple mentality. I want to be wrong, but when you have to get an offering of several seasons just to get something into production nowadays it says a lot. They killed Lost before it even started because they did not like the concept of it being a single season show and wanted more before giving over the money.
People complain about the awful things they do taking a comic into the movies...well with TV it can be even worse...totally different medium.
I'm not hating on it, but I'm not excited either. I'm neutral.
I hope it turns out great but I could only care less if it does or not.
( +)
If its good great, if its bad then..well its bad. I'll still give it a shot regardless. I have little reason not to.
Are people not excited about it because you know you won't be seeing Thor, Iron Man, Captain America or any other Marvel hero or villain?
@tyrus: Really, you like Arrow? I stuck with it for a while hoping it would get better, but it was seriously lacking on just about every level a TV show can be. In short, it's pretty much what I expected from CW. I thought it was almost as bad as The Cape (almost) which I also stuck with for far too long.
So I really hope this turns out well, but I don't have any high hopes for it. The live-action superhero stuff (even if you're not going to focus on the actual super-heroes) usually seems to be pretty bad compared to the comics and movie parallels.
I'm curious, but I'm not excited. Unless it blows me away right off the bat, I probably won't watch it.
I find just about all CBS shows to suck pretty hard so that isn't helping either. I didn't like the retcon of Colson death either since it was suppose to be the final push to get everyone together - which annoys me even more as it was possibly the only thing that could have been interpreted as some sort of message the movie stood for (death brings us closer together....?). But no. They make him alive again and more of what was all ready very little, substance is taken away from the movie.
So yeah. I'm curious to see whats going to happen and I will watch it for a little while to see if its worth watching...but I have low expectations.
I'm looking forward to it but I'm also a bit skeptical also. Very curious to see what they do with it though.

My feelings.
I'm not psyched but I am curious. I hope this turns out good.
Maybe Matt Murdock will make an appearance

AFAIK she's only in the pilot.
Hah, I don't care because I don't have cable, so it's not like I'll be able to see it anyways.
'tis on network/broadcast television (ABC), not cable.
I don't get that either.

Well fine then, lol. Most TV shows can be viewed for free online, if we're gonna get into semantics.
I wish this were a Netflix original series debuting all at once a la season four of Arrested Development. I prefer binge watching over one episode at a time via Hulu each week.
i don't get most cable :(
ABC should be able to be received over any standard antenna (& HD antenna if you have that). There's also watching shows after the fact online.
@lightsout: yaay.

I have a crazy restrictive download cap, and streaming videos is something I can't do too often.

Well, if everyone's expectations are right, you won't be missing much.
