What if he staged his death because someone was after him and the only way to save Bruce was to die, got surgery and became the butler for his now orphan son to watch over him. Think We could make this into a real story?

Not really, no. His mother died too. And wouldn't he be concerned that whoever was going after him would logically go after his son next, what with Bruce becoming the sole inheritor of the Wayne fortune and company?

Impossible. Alfred was already butler for Bruce before Bruce's parents were killed.

That said he does act as Bruce's father figure.
I suppose it could be used as an Elseworlds story, but really it's a bit too weak to stand on it's own for a whole story.

No.

We could make his mother a maid? and have the real Alfred be the one that was shot to death at the theater.

@theredhoood3: Do you honestly think this concept is interesting enough to hold it's own as a story?

What if Bruce actually planned his parents murder, so that he could inherit the company/fortune and thus using it to finance his superhero dreams and fight crime? :O

Still wouldn't work.

Your first suggestion implies that his father staged his death got surgery and became Alfred, Decoy Elite pointed out that Alfred was a Butler even before the death of the Wayne's.

Now you're suggesting that it would be Alfred who actually dies in the theater but then you miss out one critical thing Bruce would then have to have either had his Parents and Alfred at the theater but we all know it was just the three Waynes or It was Alfred and a "maid" that took Bruce to the theater and got shot but then Bruce would have the parental support he'll need to not be Batman and if Bruce knew it was Alfred who died there than how would he not know that the Alfred in modern times is Alfred.

Or just Martha was cheating on Thomas with Alfred, and Alfred was really Bruce's biological father the whole time.

Great minds think alike. It'd be a fantastic Elseworlds tale. Bruce could angrily confront Alfred and discover his whole life was a lie.
