I picked the Morrison option.

But seriously: Moore is absolutely superior to Johns. No doubt in my mind.

Don't think its fair to compare Alan Moore to Geoff Johns.

Moore is still an utter douche even if he's better.

I like them both, but they really should not be compared. Their work is drastically different.

Moore is probably the better writer, but Johns isn't as much of a dick as Moore.

Alan Moore lost his mind sometime in the mid 90s or so, somewhere close to the time Johns started hitting his stride, but they're from different eras it's a little too hard to compare

This is like comparing Stanley Kubrick to Michael Bay.

Don't be hatin on Johns brah

I am not, i love johns. but Moore has had more whats the word, exposure I guess. League of Extraordinary Gentleman, Watchmen, Killing Joke, MiracleMan, Swamp Thing.

Also, ,Moore also wins if this was a who is the biggest d-bag between the two.

The only good thing about Johns is that he give lesser known character some attention. But, as a writer he's usually alright, nonthing special.

@jonny_anonymous: I'm not sayin he's a dick, I'm just saying he completely veered from where he was in the 80s when he was crafting true comic goodness. He then started hating superheroes and his own works and basically stopped making landmark books

#24 Posted by Wolverine08 (38543 posts) - - Show Bio

@jonny_anonymous: I think calling adults whom still enjoy the superhero lore "emotionally subnormal" kind of makes you a douche, no?

#25 Posted by Jphu8414 (3199 posts) - - Show Bio

Grant Morrison is the best

Moore used to be good but he's all but irrelevant nowadays, Johns is great but not on the level of Morrison

#26 Posted by Jonny_Anonymous (32651 posts) - - Show Bio

@drmantistoboggan: If he doesn't want to make those books any more whos to say any different? It's his life.

@jonny_anonymous: I think calling adults whom still enjoy the superhero lore "emotionally subnormal" kind of makes you a douche, no?

I don't think so, I can see his point.

This is an unpopular opinion but I just think that Moore is just a hack nowadays.

I don't know, they write entirely different stories

Do you even read his current work?

#32 Edited by Jphu8414 (3199 posts) - - Show Bio

@jonny_anonymous: Attempted to...

This is just a single mans opinion though, don't think much of it

#33 Posted by DrMantisToboggan (594 posts) - - Show Bio

@jonny_anonymous: Not sure why you're taking this personally, go back and read what I've posted, I was simply frivolous saying he lost his mind, never called him a dick or attacked his personal decision making. I don't claim to be anyones personal arbiter

@jonny_anonymous: Hmm interesting read, thanks for sharing. I might've found a little more rspect for him.

Maybe you can recommend some of his more recent works for me, is Neonomicon any good?

#36 Posted by Jonny_Anonymous (32651 posts) - - Show Bio

Unfair thread.

Moore is better than everyone.
