NYCC 2015: Frank Miller is Working on New Sin City Story

New York Comic Con has been full of surprises this year. While Frank Miller showing up at the DKIII panel was quite the surprise, the bigger surprise came from the press event afterward. Miller was there promoting the third act in the Dark Knight series, working with Andy Kubert, Klaus Janson, and Brian Azzarello.

Miller was asked if he plans on continuing to do any artwork. He revealed that he's working on a Sin City book, which is a love story set to the backdrop of World War II. He could not reveal much more than that. Klaus Janson said that Miller has been drawing every day.

While Miller isn't drawing the upcoming DKIII book, Andy Kubert is handling those duties, he did draw the Atom mini-comic, which is available inside of issue #1. We'll keep you updated as more develops about this possible upcoming Sin City book.

People always abuse Frank Miller like they have some inherent right to do so. What these people need to do is get a grip and realize he is still a human being.

I want a Man of Steel Returns featuring a formerly disheveled Superman returning to a dark world and having to confront and completely fight and humiliate an older Batman. Clark Kent returning and proving to Bruce Wayne that superheroics can be light, human and still relevant. Would be perfect for the stage of comics we are in right now.

About all the negativity on Frank...I can't believe it. Yes he did some offencive stuff (I am a Muslim and Holy Terror was just atrocious) but the man is still a human being after all and he did give you some of the best comic books of all time. Some of the Best Batman stories of all time, 300, made Daredevil matter again, made Sin City and much much more. I think people should cut him a little slack and not just throw F words at him without him even giving people a reason now...

You're not wrong. But we're living in the beginning of a new era birthed, in part, by the advent of the internet. And dehumanizing people in the digital world is one huge issue we've yet to fully acknowledge exists, let alone moved to resolve. It is disheartening how we treat one another though. That's fact.

When you do something as racist and abhorrent as Holy Terror you lose a lot of peoples respect, including mine.

His stories, Dark Knight Strikes Back and beyond, are sexist, racist, homophobic, misogynistic, and just plain ugly.

I think it is good that Frank is drawing everyday. I may not have been a big fan of DK2, and I have my reservations about DK:The Master Race, but I still have respect for the man.

I think that is a great story idea. Let's give Clark some much needed love.

I fully expect to enjoy a new sin city greatly.

Not a fan of Frank Miller anymore. Really not a fan.

Anyways, Miller suffered from a disease, hence why he looks so strange and unhealthy recently IIRC, in case anyone's wondering.

People get flamed on the internet all the time, not a big deal, and I certainly wouldn't catagorize it as "abuse", either.

It's the very definition of abuse....

Abuse is defined as:

"treat with cruelty or violence, especially regularly or repeatedly."

Someone saying they hate a guy and calling him names isn't "cruel treatment", not to that extent at least.

Frank Miller's eccentricity and (sometimes annoying) approach to comics and life is just an addition to a long tradition of genius crackpots including Steve Ditko, Alan Moore and Alejandro Jodorowsky. Would we rather these guys just conformed, toed the line and cranked out a corporately sanctioned installment of this year's "Crisis of Infinite Predictability"?
