not to burst your bubble but this wont happen. Its a little too expensive for a tv budget especially if you are hiring hugh jackman. But even if you are not its the graphics that would be extremely expensive. Plus since there is going to be a seuqel to wolverine its unlikely that he will get the tv treatment and I doubt disney would let fox use ironman. how about X-23. She might get a shot on TV if its done smallville style with maximum two scenes of fx.

Great post man, someone should definitely hire you as a writer and make this show possible. You put a lot of thought into it. I think it might be too expensive. They could even make it into an adult cartoon type show.

@sethysquare:I get that, but look at Game of Thrones or Boardwalk Empire. Massively expensive period pieces, hundreds of extras...it could be done. Tie it in to the movie (sorta like when they did Blade tv)

@batkevin74: both of them are on hbo, its one of the most expensive cable channel. And majority of cable channels are owned by time warner which would not air marvel tv shows. Plus, budget for this tv series is way more expensive than game of thrones. Not to mention all the rights issues regarding who gets to air what characters. sony would never let fox use spiderman in their tv series.

They might not have a choice, the likelihood is that Sony didn't purchase TV rights to Spider-man, rather motion pictures, same for Fox. Meaning that if Marvel want to make a TV series about Wolvie and Spidey, they probably can.

I dont think they would purchase rights to making a movie if marvel is allowed to make tv series left and right. I believe (and I may be wrong) that they purchase rights to make live action films and tv shows. because if theres a tv show, why bother going to watch a movie. I dont think Sony and Fox would put themselves in a losing situation.

@sethysquare: But then that would also probably mean that Marvel are unable to make TV shows such as spectacular Spider-man or include Spidey in other shows.

Surprisingly, it seems Sony did have television rights (both live action and animated) until 2009 when they reverted back to Marvel
