You just KNOW a comic book forum like this needs a "What If...?" thread!
Let's hear your "What If...?" comic title.
If you can flesh it out, then by all means... it makes for a better read, yes?
Here's mine:
What If... the Butler Did It?
While routinely updating his files, Bruce Wayne stumbles upon a strange discovery regarding his father's medical history. After further research it is determined that Dr Thomas Wayne was clinically sterile and could not father any children!
As only the world's greatest detective could do... he followed lead after lead until he arrived at the bedroom door of his longtime friend and family butler, Alfred Pennyworth.
Initially shocked by Bruce's accusations, Alfred eventually realizes that he must come clean regarding his past. It was true, Dr Wayne could not have children. The idea that he would be the last Wayne drove him near insanity, until he concoccted a plan wherein his closest confidante, Mr Pennyworth, would impregnate Martha Thomas on Dr Wayne's behalf. At first Alfred was resistant, not only would it mean he would be sleeping with his employer's wife, but it would also mean that his own child would be reared by someone else posing to be the child's father. Only the desperation in both Dr and Mrs Wayne's voices pleading for him to help them finally caused him to submit to their request.
Nine months and three minutes later... baby Bruce enters the world.
Only after Alfred finished the tale of his past did he turn to face Bruce. With tear-strained eyes he asks of Bruce, "I hope this little revelation doesn't significantly alter the nature of our association... son."
To which Batman replies, "FILL IN THE BLANK"
