The Official Fan-Fic Versus Tournament Returns!

It's back!

Here the writers of Comic Vine will be put against each other to decide who's the best!

The tournament is simple. Each round will be given a specific set of rules which the contestants MUST FOLLOW. Two or more writers will be put against each other each round. They will then have a set amount of time to write and submit their stories to me (usually a week). Once I've received all the stories, voting threads will be made for the match-ups. The winners will advance to the next round where they will be given a new set of rules and so on. Get it? Cool.

Round 1: Every writer must choose one character from DC Comics and one from Marvel as the foe.

RULES:

You cannot use a character another writer has chosen, so once you've picked two, post them in the thread here. First to post, gets the characters.

You have one week to submit your story. (November 15, EST)

Minimum 500 word count and maximum 1500.

Once finished, you must submit your story to me (by PM). The sooner I get the stories, the sooner the voting threads will come up.

Once your story's submitted, it cannot be edited. It will be returned to you if the spelling and grammar are unacceptable.

Be respectful of the other writers.

Regardless if and when it gets off the ground, I'll vote. Might encourage others to vote in the normal regular fan fic comp we have going that people avoid/miss/ignore/shirk/forget

@batkevin74: I'm technically on my third. The first was a failure, the second a "success", then followed by two failures.

@awesam: how many contestants are u aiming for?

@monarch_chronicle: I have no specific aim, but how the tournament is set will depend on how many contestants I get.

@awesam: like razz, I don't know why you were having trouble. While it might not help you now, in the future if you have difficulties use the support@comicvine.com email (also found in the help page) and the staff could try to help you.
