This thread is just for new writer's who want to ask questions or for current fic'rs who wish to share pieces of advice or offer help to any new writers. Fairly informal, place to hold conversations (as long as they stick to the general point of the thread) and shouldn't be too serious at any point. Remember, be friendly.

Ok so I need some advice if I should do a story or not. The plot is that in this universe the JL were goverment agents working to defend the president. Supes is the strength, Wonder Woman is a swords master, Green Arrow and Bats are what they have always been an archer and Martial Ars expert, and Black Canary is an unarmed combat fighter. When Russia plans to attack the United States due to the previous months having been spied on by American Spy's. When the The President is in danger of being killed they form the JL and swear to protect the president of the united states and all others.

In my opinion, no. The Justice League (especially Superman and Wonder Woman) are seen as gods, not bodyguards. This would totally ruin their image. It's just a fan-fic, but I personally would have no interest. That's just my opinion. It's pretty creative, though.

I will offer editing if I know the character very well. Will probably say no more than yes but it's worth asking.

Note: I won't be associated with scripts in any way.

Well since you guys are offering help, I wanted to ask you how would you guys do a fight? Obviossly since i have Jedi and Sith and theyre battles are very fast paced, should I explain everything or just give readers enough of an idea as to whats going on but no too much to make them skip over story bits?

@ekrolo: In a one-on-one battle I usually do it play-by-play saying each move they do as it happens. In large battles this proves difficult to do so I'd go with what you said at the end : If you want, you could write the battle scene up and send it to me?

I've wanted to get involved SO BADLY since I got here, but I just cannot shake the fear! Plus I don't know if there would be a lot of interest in the kind of thing I write. I've looked at the FanFic groups, and it wouldn't fit anywhere....

Well, groups aren't just for writing you know. It's a fun way to meet other Fan-Fic writers with the same interests, hell I don't think I've posted a story for DC Gen for a while but I'm still talking on the PM near enough everyday. You could make your own group if you want or even just ask a writer for advice!

Welcome to the vine, you have friends everywhere! Especially

Wow, thank you for your help :) Approachability is important though - a lot of the time, I want to ask about things, but I just worry about bothering people :)

@CapFanboy:

Is it good to write a plot summary before working out the details of the story?

It all depends on what kind of writer you are. I don't write a plot summary before I start. Hell, if I'm doing multiple chapters I won't even have a story. Most of it is made on the fly. However, other writers do prefer to have their plot planned out so they don't forget to leave anything out. It's your choice. Do you think you'll benefit from knowing how your story turns out or do you want to see where it leads you?

#31 Posted by xxxddd (3428 posts) - - Show Bio

@CapFanboy:

I like having a plot summary first.

Then I like to work scene(three scenes to a chapter).

@CapFanboy:

Hawkeye Rectonned

Plot Summary

Hawkeye suddenly takes control over a major steel company whose headquarters is in Philadelphia.

Deciding to keep the job, he moves to Philadeplhia and adopts a secret identity(as a billionaire). Little does Hawkeye know, that someone has figured out his identity, and plans to kill Hawkeye!

The villain's name is going to be hawkeye's archnemeis: The AcidSkull.

He will wear a all black suit and his mask will be this.

Concerns

I haven't worked out the Acidskull's origin or the backstory as to how Hawkeye inherited a major steel company. Is the plot summary good so far?

Well guys I had this pretty interesting idea for a Dracula story in which the title character finds himself resurrected in Modern day Los Angeles and takes over a Crip chapter in (Inglewood) Since Compton, Crenshaw, and Watts have been done to death. I was drunk when the idea came to me, so I don't even remember how he ends up in California, but it was a meant to be a clever play on gang violence, since it will center around Dracula and his new family versus the newest bloodline of Helsings.

I know it's a lil strange, but the images I had in my head played like a movie. I've decided to do what I do best and focus more on Horror. Even if I do Super-hero stories they will have this feel as well. The title would be Dracula: Down With The Blood. Which of course has a double meaning. lol

Hello there! Just wanted to get my first post out the way, and here seems as good a place as any.

I'm completly new to this website, my friend recommended it, but not completly new to comics or writing for that matter. I was really just looking for an outlet for some writing that I do, and after reading through many threads; here seems to be a very warm and friendly place to just that.

So at the moment im working on some short stories, 5 comic pages in length, that are inspired by Alan Moores Tharg's Future Shocks, although Moores writing in these was tradtionally quite dark, mine are more light hearted affairs; focusing on 'irks,' of mine and exaggerating to great extent.

Just a quick question to finish off, where would be best to post something like this? I'd rather not post it in the wrong place, and look like a total fool.

#40 Posted by CapFanboy (4497 posts) - - Show Bio

@Justchris331: Hey, sorry for the really late reply. Make sure you click the reply button under one of our posts otherwise we won't see it.

If it still matters, just post it on the Fan-Fic board. There should be a button on the board saying £create new thread" or something like that, just give it a title and post your story in and hope someone reads it!

Yes, because new users will take advice on their writing from someone who cannot spell 'conversation' correctly.

That's right, Worm. I just corrected your spelling, and I'm not even sad about it.
