***19 years four months ago***

Jor-El looked intently at the rocket he’d built, his mind turned numbers and variables as he did calculations on his handheld data pad. Lara entered carrying their infant son.

“Are you sure?” Lara looked at her husband, tears welling.

“No…I am not” said Jor-El “But it will give him a chance. I’ve seen the illegal surveillance from Zod, the Empire has built a weapon and it is pointing directly at us!”

“Could we not send an emissary?”

“The last time Kryptonians left our sector of space was millennia ago to set up the colony on Daxam. We have always been an insular, private peoples. It wasn’t until Palpatine made contact a few years ago and sent…”

“Anakin Skywaker”

Jor-El looked at his wife as she spoke the name of the Empire’s representative who had come to Krypton several months ago. “Yes…Anakin. It was a shame I didn’t get more time to scientifically study the Force; it is a shame we didn’t get to do a lot of things”

“Could we not all go?”

Jor-El placed his son in the capsule “Lara” Jor-El bit his lip as he tearfully closed the lid “You have betrayed me in the most intimate of ways. Kal-El is innocent in all this, but to look upon him constantly reminds me of your infidelity. You and I will share Krypton’s fate”

Lara burst into tears and collapsed to her knees “I am sorry Jor-El!”

Jor-El punched in a series of coordinates into the capsule computer and the rocket roared to life.

“So am I Lara…so am I”

Tatooine, edge of The Dune Sea

Ben Kenobi shot up from his sleep. He was covered in sweat, breathing heavy. He reached out with the Force instinctively and his lightsaber flew into his hand and ignited, the blue blade humming with power. His pulsed raced, his mind throbbed from the psychic call that had disturbed the Force; it was like a as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced!

He shut off his weapon and wiped the sweat from his eyes.

Bridge of the star destroyer Executor, Kryptonian sector

Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader looked out the viewport at the floating debris that was several moments ago, the planet Krypton.

“Impressive, most impressive” hissed Palpatine. Slowly he turned to Ohran Keldor, who stood behind them “You were saying Ohran?”

“The test more than met…” said Ohran

"Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed!” snapped Darth Vader, the smug smile evaporating from Ohran’s face “Why does it vent gas into space?”

“As I was about to say my lord Vader” Ohran bowed in submission “The test worked, but since the super laser was not quite finalised and wished not to disappoint, the conductor coil cracked under the tremendous…”

“Enough!” rasped Palpatine “Fix the problems and make it operational”

“Yes my lord” said Ohran as he slunk away.

“Krypton is no more” laughed Palpatine “Set a course back to Coruscant. This part of the galaxy is very empty” He began to chuckle.

Tatooine, south range of the moisture farm of Owen & Beru Lars

Owen and Beru looked at the object wedged into the crater that had crashed onto their farm. Owen scanned around for Jawas or Tusken raiders, his laser rifle at the ready.

“What is that noise?” asked Beru as she moved closer to the craft “Is that a baby?”

“Who would put a baby in that contraption?” said Owen.

Beru stepped back as the craft hissed and the lid opened. Inside, wrapped in a royal blue wrap was a baby “Oh my stars!” she exclaimed “Owen, look”

Owen was dumbfounded “Best get back to the house”

How about Awesomsness? P.S. last chapter you mentioned maybe "mixing" Jabba and Lex Luthor. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. Luthor could be a sith or something. Also you may finally answer the question: Can a light saber cut Superman?

#18 Posted by batkevin74 (10585 posts) - - Show Bio

@tmacximas: Thank you. Now the eternal question: Lighsabers Vs Kryptonian skin cells. I'll send you a PM with my thoughts on that issue. And no I wasn't really going to Jabba-rise Lex, but I kinda like the idea. Maybe Lex Calrissian.....

@wildvine: Thanks

@primepower53: "I am Legion, for We are many" Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

No. Just, No.

Excellent! Genuinely enthralling and hanging to see what happens next, though I agree with NOT making Jabba the Luthor or Lex the Hutt as @tmacximas suggests. This bit is quite chilling {"This part of the galaxy is very empty” He began to chuckle} Ahh Palpatine, you creepy morbid bastard. Good work, looking forward to more

@LadyLigeia: The twist to keep both mythologies entwined :) I had my initial doubts on whether it'd work, we'll see in the next few chapters I guess

Taking advantage of the readers' knowledge of Star Wars and Superman to not have to write the Deathstar destroying Krypton is sheer perfection. Just a psychic scream and the aftermath. Very, very nice. And Supes crashlands on a moisture farm instead of a Kansas farm! Love it! I didn't even think of that connection! ...I have gotten so out of practice at crossover connections. I've got to get back into this. Going to part 3!

@cbishop: The parallels between Clark and Luke read like the same book at times.
