History: Antwon was born as an orphan on the streets of New York. His parents were killed at a young age due drug deals gone wrong down in Puerto-Rico. Born into a family full of criminals, the police decided that it was best he wasn't adopted by his criminal relatives, so they put him in the New York Adoption Facility at around 1 years old. But that didn't solve anything. The first to be adopted were, the White girls, then the White boys, then the Asian girls, then the Asian boys. People who were of Italian, Hispanic, & African-American descent usually weren't adopted since their kind was known to be criminals. Eventually Antwon was ironically adopted by a Caucasian-Blue Collar family. At the head of the household was Lieutenant Morris, an NYPD officer. They raised him well and Antwon grew into a good boy, His grades in school were good, he got along well with all kinds of kids, girls, boys, nerds, jocks, etc. He was never picked on because most were afraid of him. But then came the day. On Antwon's 10th Birthday. Lieutenant Morris gave Antown a special birthday present, an empty gun and told him "Take this so that you may protect yourself at all times, and when the time is right, when you're 18, you'll receive the bullets", Morris also gave some heartbreaking news. He told Antwon that his parents didn't die from a drug deal, that they were actually killed by him (Morris) & his squad. Antwon was taken aback by the news and subsequently went to sleep.
The next day after school, Antwon went home and looked all around the house for the bullets to the gun. Antwon checked all over until he looked in the garbage, Antwon couldn't find any bullets, Morris was smarter then that, Why would he hide bullets in a house with a kid who was born in crime. Antwon felt that his adopted father didn't trust him, and he felt that Morris was the cause for all this. He wasn't going to sit here and pretend this was the life for him. This wasn't him, He's not Antwon Morris, He's Antwon De La Hoya, A Puerto Rican Gangster. And from that day on, Antwon ran way from home and took to the streets.
For years, Antwon didn't see his family. Hell he even thought that they weren't even bothering to look for him. Around age 13-14, though, Antwon began to distribute and sell drugs, By selling drugs he was able to by himself the bullets for his gun and go find his family, His family were living in Miami, and so that's where Antwon went, He went to Miami, met his family, and continued his work of crime down there. He even bought one of a Pimp's Major Prostitutes and she became his girlfriend. After meeting his real family, he moved back to New York with his girlfriend Rosa, and continued his operation there. However soon another bad day came. After a failed bank robbery, Antwon came into conflict with his adopted father. His father held Antwon at gunpoint and simply offered to arrest him if he gave back the money. Antwon looked his father in the eye, and said "You're not my father" and shot him down, in cold blood with the gun he got when he was 10. Antwon was then arrested,
Antwon was now 16 and in jail, While in jail he found out his wife had a baby on the way, However by the time he was 17, the baby came out, but his girlfriend died of an STD. Antwon had to take care of his child and he didn't know what to do. Soon the government visited his jail. They told him he had a chance to restart his life, get good pay and possibly make a difference in this world, That instead of wasting his life in jail, he could easily, join a team of superheroes (metahumans) and change the world. Antwon didn't exactly have a choice, He could join the team, even though he had no powers, or he could stay in jail. Having no choice he had to accept the offer, even if it meant betraying his crew. Antwon De La Hoya died, but Renegade was born.
