The Man Who Would Be Tree! Part 1 of 2
It was a windy, windy night. It was dark and cold, and tree rot was slowly killing the entire woods.
"Dont worry, my woody friends" said Dr. Jacob Mantrez.
"Thats great... and weird" said his assistant, Daniel Shadow, "Lets just get to curing tree-rot"
"Its not weird to be friends with mother nature" said Jacob.
"It is weird to be DATING mother nature" said Daniel.
"Whatever, lets get back to curing these poor trees" said Jacob.
"You mean your step-kids?" Daniel mumbled to himself.
Jacob got out his new chemical, and poured it on the slowly dying tree.
"Any second now----"
"Its hopeless" informed Daniel.
"Come on..." mumbled Jacob "Work--- WORK!!!"
Jacob, worrying as much as the average human possibly can, sat there for a minute as Daniel just looked to the side.
"NOOOOO!!!!!" yelled Jacob "Years of work down the drain!"
"Well.... I'll leave you two alone now" said Dr. Shadow as he walked away.
That night, Jacob sat there by himself, waiting for something to happen. With a tear in his eye, he leaned against the tree, sighing.
"Daniel was right" said Jacob, but before he left, a terrible incident happened... the chemicals had infected Jacob, and when he touched the tree, it had fused the two into one!
"Aaaah! Help... HELP!!!" screamed Jacob in fear as his skin turned into wood, his hair turned into leafs, his finger-nails turn into splinters.... he was one with the woods... he was, on that day, the man who would be TREE!
The next day, just outside of the woods, for the good of the rest of the trees in the small town of Jakville, Kansas, they decided to bring in Ace Brucer and his crew of lumberjacks to chop down the infected trees.
"Are you sure this is good?" said Mayor Thompson "A scientist went missing here just last night."
"He's probably either gone crazy or dead by now" said Ace "Dem woods right there, dey needa' be chopped down, or your town'll fall apart. Its him or Jakville."
The mayor sighed, and made up his mind.
"Jakville" he said.
"Excellent" chuckled Ace "Perfectly excellent".
