Official HORROR INC. Thread 2.0

Welcome to Horror Inc 2.0!

To those writers and artists who have already been involved in some capacity, the only thing you really need to know is that the project is now officially under new management. This new thread has only been created to make things easier on my end, as I can't edit the old ones: all the rules remain the same. This is more a continuation than anything else, picking up from where we left off. There will also be a new library thread including all stories so far.

But for those of you who don't....

"What is Horror Inc? Well, we are a group of writers and artists who are involved in re-imagining horror classics of yesterday and today and reinventing them in a contemporary and imaginative new way."

Horror Inc was/is a Fan Fic group started by feebadger, one which encouraged the artists and writers on this site to take a fresh approach to established horror stories and characters, as well as attempting to kickstart some form of collaboration between the Fan Fic and Artist Showoff boards.

Here are the rules:

Original Horror Inc Rules

"1. All stories need to be, primarily set in the modern day. We want to see a contemporary take on these characters. Sure, if elements of the story exist in the past, that can be included, but the story should PRIMARILY be set in the modern day.

2. We're hoping for collaboration to play a part in this collection. After the initial round of contributions, we are hoping to pair up likely creators/characters so that we can get some collaborative pieces going on the fan fic forum.

3. I'm going to play editor in chief on this one so what I say goes (to start with anyway). I'm a pretty fair and easy going guy so i'm always open to ideas and suggestions, but i want this to be a great collection of stories so i'm going to guide this pretty strictly to begin with. I just want great stories.

4. For the time being we're only using established horror characters and rewriting them (no Anne Rice vampires though, please as she tends to have king sized legal wobbly when people use her stuff).

(BOO NOTE: There will certainly, at some point, be a chance to write with OCs. Just not yet.)

5. I'm hoping to release these Horror Inc. stories in a measured way; four at a time so that everyone will get a chance (hopefully) to get their stuff read. Four stories will be released simultaneously on a date i will work out with the writers and then the next four will be released at a pre-determined time following that. Make sense? No? Good ;P All you need know, is please don't post your finished pieces until you've contacted me, no matter how eager you are to share your magnum opus with the world. It will benefit us all this way, trust me.

6. I'm hoping to collaborate with some of the regular contributors to the artist show off section (of which i am a sporadic contributor) and get some of the guys and gals over there to contribute a piece for each of the stories posted. If you are an artist or know someone who will do a piece for you or other writers, get them on board and let me know.

7. I will actively be hawking your post to all and sundry. Anyone that will listen, i will actively pursue to try and get as many people having a look at the contributions that are made here. No point you putting in the hard work if it doesn't reach an audience, huh?"

I considered a rewrite of the rules, but I pretty much subscribe to all of the above. As much as I have my own ideas for this in terms of where it is going, I want to stay as true to the original intention of the project as possible.

I had the hunter who killed Betsy's mom trapped in a cellar about to see why you don't want to screw around with an elder werewolf's family. Its one of those cold hearted old world kinds of revenge.

Absolutely, in my mind the character is yours :) I was hoping you would say that actually. Get back to him in your own time, I know most people here have several things on the go, so no stress there. I am very glad to hear he will be returning though ;)

Yes, as with most of the art in the library :) Feeb's original intent for the project was to have both sides involved, so I have been going around asking nicely :D As it turns out, they are a helpful and friendly bunch in the art section ^_^

I am, I am in the middle of writing mine funny enough. And we already have the artwork for that one, too! Gah it's all too exciting! ^_^

Well it has gone really well so far,with people expressing interest in doing stories and carrying them on.
