Marvel Mashed Up Origins: Elektra Natchios Sorceress Supreme

Welcome to Mashed Up Origins!

This is an experiment of mine that I was going to make into a group, but with the chaos that a group can bring I decided to go it alone. It’s short, sweet and basically a quick origin where one hero gets anothers origin, something to make you go (hopefully) “I’d like to see that!” Previous mashes are below

“My mother died about four hours after I was born by an assassin. This event set my life on a path of revenge, murder and death. I was kidnapped at age nine and held to ransom. I was eventually returned to my family. My father hired a team of round the clock bodyguards and I began learning martial arts three days a week from various experts my father hired. I was well protected but Greece was a gilded cage, a prison.

At nineteen my father had accepted a diplomatic posting from the Greek government to the United States to which I demanded I go. He relented and I began my higher education at Columbia University. It was where I met Matthew. He was handsome, cocky law student who didn’t know who I was and didn’t care either. We fell madly in love despite my father’s best efforts.

My father and I were kidnapped after an embassy dinner in Washington. I resisted and my father paid the ultimate price. I swore revenge. I broke Matthew’s heart and I headed to China to improve my skills so I could find the men who killed my father. But revenge is a hollow game. I spent several months learning how to kill with my hands but it wouldn’t bring my father back.

I took a journey into the mountains looking for, well something. I trekked for weeks and found myself in Tibetan kingdom of Kamar-Taj. It was here I met the Ancient One, an aging mystic who saw great potential in me. I became his apprentice learning the ways of magic and mysticism.

I studied for several years. Then the demon Shuma-Gorath attempted to invade the Earth and my master sacrificed his mind and body to trap the malevolent spirit. That is how the mantle of Sorceress Supreme passed to me.”

The customs officer looked at the stunning lady standing before him, a little baffled. He looked at her passport and back at her.

“I didn’t need your life story lady; I just needed to know if you had any fruit, vegetable or anything else in your luggage to declare?”

Elektra smiled and blushed “Sorry, no, no I don’t”

“Welcome to America ma’am, have a nice day”

Read this one at work last night. It made no sense to me why she'd tell all of that to a customs officer, but up til that point, good story.

@cbishop: It ran off the idea when you're at customs and someone asks anything to declare? In this case Elektra, obviously jet-lagged from the trip just told him her life story, to which he's taken aback

@batkevin74: I got that...it just didn't seem like a real reaction to me. <shrug> I enjoyed it anyway.

@cbishop: True, I started writing and then put it at the airport as there is no logical time that anyone, ever tells people their life story. Anything to declare? Kinda worked for me

Whaa...? If she's telling it to a guy: pillow talk. If she's talking to a girl: over wine. ;)

@batkevin74: Cool idea, it reminds me of the characters from the board game Sentinels of the Multiverse, most of whom are easy to spot mashups of famous characters from DC and Marvel.
