(Incorporating two parts: Winter Soldier # 6 & Ghost Rider #3 from the Iron Age, so for context you need to have a read of part 5 of WS and part 2 of GR. also I do NOT own the pictures, rated MA and this is a fan-fic using Marvel's characters)
Lanzhou China
As she flew along, following the trail of fire that burnt below her, Major Beyonce Hwjang received a transmission in her headset “…STARKS! Running their secret facility's underground!"
“Squad halt!” she barked as hovered to a stop “This is Major Beyonce Hwjang of the Lanzhou Iron Hall. Identify yourself!”
“This is General Stephen Kojo-Chin of the Wuhan Iron Hall”
“You’re a long way out of your province General”
“Just following a lead and breaking up an old lab conducting illegal genetic experiments”
“Anything to do with fire General? I only ask is because I am on the trail of ‘something’ that has left a burning scar from Lanzhou heading towards Yongjing”
“We had a suspect but he’s now dead major”
“With your permission General, I’d like to rendezvous at your position and see if these two things are connected”
“Sending coordinates to you now major”
“Thank you sir” Major Hwjang looked over at Captain Chung “This is why I’m a major and you’re still a captain. Squad reroute to Ningxia. Not you Chung, you’re going to follow the flaming trail and then report back to me in person”
“Yes ma’am!” Chung saluted and flew off as the other soldiers formed up and followed Major Beyonce Hwjang to Ningxia.
MysteriousUnderground tunnels
James looked at where his left arm use to be. The wound was potentially fatal as he checked over the burnt meat around the stump. He glanced over at the Gargoyle’s carcass lying on the ground, gas wheezing from its dead body. James pulled his pistol and fired six bullets into it for good measure.
“Why is this familiar?” he muttered aloud as memories of his genetic template replayed a fractured memory: rushing wind, cold water, a flag, flesh tearing and the haunting scream of ‘BUCKY!’
James staggered over to his hoverbike and fell onto it.
Need to get back to John. He can fix me
James started the bike and roared off, back the way he’d come, groggily clinging onto the handle
Yongjing China
Dhanny looked at his flaming skeletal hands and screamed. The throbbing demonic laughter filled his head.
“Oh god help me!”
YOU ARE A PAWN IN THE GAME, MEAT!
“Who said that?”
DO NOT SPEAK TO DORMAMMU, LORD OF THE DARK DIMENSION!
“What is going on?”
DAIMON HELLSTROM WILL PAY FOR THIS INSULT!
“I’m talking to you!”
SILENCE MAGGOT!
“Hey! I’m the one who is a flaming skeleton! I want some answers!” yelled Dhanny
I SAID SILENCE!
Dhanny clutched his head, and felt that his head was warm and skeletal also “Oh stark me! Oh god! What has happened to me? Oh stark, Fenfang!”
CEASE PRATTLING MAGGOT!
“Okay, shut up!” yelled Dhanny and a column of flame shot from his mouth into the air “What is going on?”
“This is priceless” Dhanny turned to see Daimon Hellstrom smirking like a Chesire cat, leaning against his trident.
KILL HIM! KILL THAT HALFBREED BASTARD SPAWN! Dormammu screamed in Dhanny’s head
“Comfortable in there” Daimon looked at Dhanny but was speaking to the entity inside him “Hopefully not”
“What have you done to me?” asked Dhanny
“I’ve made you into a cage Dhanny” chuckled Daimon “You are a prison for Dormammu, that lovely voice in your head”
I WILL FLAY YOU SATAN SCUM! PEEL YOUR FLESH!
“You’ll get use to his ranting, I suppose” Daimon smiled.
DAMN YOU BOY! KILL HIM! DO NOT LET HIM ESCAPE! KILL HIM!
Oh shut up!
LET ME OUT WORM!
If I could get you out of my head, you’d be gone by now you starking noise!
“Well I just thought I’d make sure you two were getting along” said Daimon
LET ME OUT! CURSE YOU HELLSTROM!
“He wants to kill you” said Dhanny clutching his head
“I know” Daimon spun his trident “Let him out”
“What?”
Daimon smiled knowingly “You can let him out”
YES!
“You asked for it!” Dhanny exploded into a ball of fire and was replaced by his flesh and blood self, complete with gaping hole in his chest. Dormammu collapsed and screamed as he had been made flesh.
“Stings doesn’t it” laughed Daimon
What are you doing?
“STOP YELLING IN MY HEAD!” yelled Dormammu as he writhed on the ground
Daimon walked up and pinned the body to the ground with his trident, the tines piercing the flesh and impaling into the ground “Dhanny can release you from the cage Dormammu, but you return in HIS flesh, and seeing as he suffered a mortal wound, all you’ll feel is pain, excruciating pain. Each of you is the others conscience, I find THAT ironic”
Kill him! You kill him and we can be free!
“SILENCE WORM!” screamed Dormammu “I WILL EAT YOUR FACE HELL CHILD!”
“Of course you will” laughed Daimon twisting the trident. Daimon pulled the trident out “You two play nice now, eternity is a very long time” And with that Daimon vanished in a cloud of sulphur and brimstone.
Dormammu tried to get to his feet but the pain virtually incapacitated him, he flopped on the ground like a fish out of water.
We need to swap back
SILENCE!
MysteriousUnderground tunnels
James balanced on the hoverbike precariously, his stump oozing blood. As he roared back towards his place of birth, more images and feelings washed over him.
“…help…” John’s voice crackled over the radio
“John!”
There was silence on the line. James balanced and flipped a switch on the tank activating the nitrous oxide feed. The hoverbike exploded with a thrust of power as James struggled to control the mechanical beast.
I will save you John. Then you will save me. Just like I saved Steve…who’s Steve?
Zhang Chin II'sAbandoned Facility, Ningxia China
General Stephen Kojo-Chin stood over the body of Dr John Barker. His squad had torn the place apart and it seemed that they were too late. Dr Barker had done some sort of illegal cloning technique, what he wasn’t sure. The equipment in the lab, that wasn’t blasted to smithereens, was primitive, circa 2170.
“What the stark were you doing in here?” he asked the body.
“General”
“What?”
“Major Hwjang has radioed in; she’ll be here in fifteen”
“Almost pointless really” sighed the General “But she’s travelled all this way. At ease men, we’re about to have company”
Yongjing, China
Dormammu writhed in agony in Dhanny’s body. He’d never felt pain like this. He couldn’t think, just scream and convulse. Captain Chung spotted the flailing man and flew down towards him.
“By order of the Supreme Commander, you are under arrest!” Chung said “If you fail to comply I will use deadly force!”
“I WILL KILL YOU!”
“Okay” said Chung raising his repulsors
If we don’t swap, we’ll die
“DORMAMMU DOES NOT TAKE ORDERS FROM MEAT!”
Captain Chung fired a blast as Dormammu released his grip and turned into Ghost Rider, with Dhanny in charge. The repulsor blast shredded the motorcycle leathers.
“You’re in trouble now!” said Dhanny as a mystical chain formed in his hand
KILL HIM! Dormammu’s words echoed through the flaming skull KILL HIM YOU STUPID ANIMAL!
“Shut up will you” said Dhanny as he whipped the chain around Captain Chung neck and hauled him close. Chung screamed as he careened towards Ghost Rider who slammed his fist through his visor.
KILL HIM!
“No!” yelled Dhanny. Chung looked as the flaming skulled man arguing with himself. Chung raised his weapon and a skeletal hand shot up and crackled with hellfire. “Don’t!” said Dhanny “Seriously there’s a thing in my head trying to get me to kill you, I don’t want to!”
BURN HIM YOU GUTLESS WORM!
“Do you know where the unit that was chasing me is?”
“N-Ningxia” whimpered Chung as he lay on the floor
BURN HIM! KILL HIM!
“Quiet! Stark!” Dhanny looked down on Chung “Was that your unit?”
“Y-yes”
“YOU TRIED TO KILL ME!” roared Dhanny, the flames from his skull responding to his anger.
YES! YES! KILL HIM!
Dhanny opened his hands and melted Chung’s armoured feet to the ground with a blast of hellfire “I’m going to find your unit and…”
“No!” Chung raised his repulsor and fired. Dhanny ducked and fired another blast of hellfire, turning the Iron Soldier into molten slag.
YES! YES! EXCELLENT!
“Oh shut up!” said Dhanny
MysteriousUnderground tunnels
James checked the GPS groggily. He was about ten kilometres away. The hoverbike was starting to overheat but he didn’t care. He needed to get back.
I’ll stop Zemo! I’ll save Steve and John
James memories seemed all disjointed and his head ached, his bloody semi-cauterized stump throbbed.
Yongjing, China
Dhanny looked at the slag of the Iron Soldier at his feet; the smell ran up his open nostrils.
LET US GO SLAUGHTER HIS COMRADES!
“No!” snapped Dhanny “I didn’t mean to kill him”
AND BECAUSE YOU HAVE, YOU WILL BURN IN HELL MEAT! EMBRACE THE DARKNESS!
“I hate you”
I DON’T CARE FILTH!
Dhanny got onto his demonic motorcycle and roared off towards to Ningxia.
Zhang Chin II'sAbandoned Facility, Ningxia China
“As you can see Major Hwjang” the General escorted her around the facility “A primitive lab”
“Yes General. It may be connected to the person or persons who turned one of my men into a candle” Major Hwjang looked at the broken cloning tunes, peppered with bullets and repulsor blasts “Was there anyone left to question?”
“A scientist but he was killed in the fire fight”
She shot her superior a look and continued to look around “I seem to have wasted a trip then”
“I shall put it in my report that you were most helpful” The general smiled showing off his poorly kept teeth.
The lab was rocked by gunfire. Major Beyonce Hwjang and General Kojo-Chin engaged their armour and headed to the sound.
The two squads crouched and returned fire.
“Status!’ yelled the general over his comms
“One possibly two men arrived and opened fire sir”
James dropped his pistol and drew another, firing into the lab. When it was empty he threw it and tossed a grenade, using the explosion to move into the lab.
“Where is Dr Barker?!” roared James “Where is Steve?”
“What is he starking well going on about?” roared Major Hwjang
“Unsure ma’am”
James leapt into the lab, using instinctive combat moves to get into close quarters with the soldiers, using their bodies and weapons against them.
“I am the Winter Soldier!” yelled James “I am the Saviour! You will release Steve!” James judo flipped a soldier over his shoulder “Where is Dr Barker?”
“Winter Soldier?” The General looked at Major Hwjang in horror “If that’s a Winter Soldier, then we’re all dead!”
“Suck it up General” said the major as she headed into battle “We serve at the pleasure of the Supreme Commander”
James began to sweat. His skin itched and flaked in places. He felt like he was coming apart on a molecular level. Images of stars, explosions, swastikas, marching, exploding planes filled his head as he smashed into the Iron Soldiers, not use to dealing with an experienced fighter up close.
“I can do this Steve!” cried James “I am the Winter Sol…”
“Shut up!” Major Beyonce Hwjang smashed a fist into James mouth knocking him onto the floor “You men should be shot, letting a one-armed man get this close to you!” She fired a repulsor blast but James leapt away and flung a handful of flashbangs into her face. James jump kicked and knocked her off her feet before a repulsor blast caught him in the back knocking him to his knees.
General Kojo-Chin smiled and fired again blasting a large chunk of James back out.
“I’m sorry Steve…John…I can’t remember!’ He put his hand up and behind his head “I’m so sorry”
Major Hwjang fired a shot, blowing a hole in James stomach “In the name of the Supreme Commander, I sentence you to death!”
James fell to his side, groaning. He fumbled for a grenade when the remaining Iron Soldiers opened fire on him, blowing him to pieces.
The room exploded with sound and fury as Dhanny jumped in through the entrance and skidded his motorcycle. The Iron Soldiers looked upon the flaming skeletal man astride a demonic rumbling bike.
“You killed an unarmed man! On his knees?” Dhanny looked at the soldiers, his anger boiling “I was just coming here to teach you a lesson…but now…” He felt Dormammu’s words jumped from his mouth
“I WILL KILL YOU!”
