Pennsylvania State line
Anthony and Anatoly had stumbled upon a motor pool for a Ferrum tech support branch. The Iron pigs that usually guarded the place were currently in the field backing up the search team leaving only the security drones. The two picked out the least conspicuous vehicle they could find and after making sure the drones were far enough away they quickly pushed the vehicle out the back.
After a moment Anatoly had managed to get it started and they were off. They let out a sigh of relief once they hit the highway.
Chicago Auxiliary Iron army command center
General Falcon Helfitta stood before Major McHatfield, Sargent Ermy and Dr. Warren, "You are extremely lucky today, The Supreme Commander has decided not to kill you despite your apparent incompetents. He simply can't afford to lose experienced field leaders at this time. As for you Doctor, your thunder knock offs have been reassigned, your authority over them has been revoked."
Warren stepped forward, "You can't do that."
Helfitta glared at him, "They are soldiers of the Iron army, I could have them cleaning toilets at the Vault if I chose to. The Supreme Commander has found a use for them which is the only reason you still live. You are being tasked with restarting the Maryland Institute, one screw up and I'll have your head on a pole. Now get out."
He then turned to Ermy, "The Commander is holding you personally responsible for the incident in Long Valley."
Ermy stammered out, "But Sir, it was our jurisdiction."
Helfitta glared at him, "Last time I checked, Allentown jurisdiction ended at the Pennsylvania state line, and correct me if I'm wrong but what state does Long Valley happen to be in?"
Ermy went silent as the General looked to Mchatfeild, "Congratulations, you've been promoted. Ermy, meet the new commander of Allentown."
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Just after midnight
Anatoly and Anthony stood at a fence behind a large warehouse. Anthony glared at Anatoly, "Couldn't your little device have told us about the at least two dozen Hunter class Iron soldiers guarding the place?"
Anatoly shrugged, "It is GPS not tarot cards, relax we have made it past giant disgusting lizards and three divisions of soldiers. Surely this shouldn't be too difficult."
Anthony sighed, "Has it occurred to you that dumb luck was pretty much the whole reason we didn't die."
Anthony suddenly noticed he was talking to himself as Anatoly had managed to get a section of the fence off. He looked back, "You may wish to hurry to avoid the guards."
Anthony ran up to join the Latverian as he went for an air duct. Anatoly climbed up and helped Anthony in. The two silently crept through stopping at each vent to ensure they hadn't been heard. After a few long moments they crawled out into a large room filled with massive crates. As they passed through Anthony noticed one small dusty crate sitting off in a corner marked 'C. Barton' the serial number had worn off from age. He told Anatoly he would catch up and went to investigate.
He opened the crate and found a several outfits a bow and an array of specialized arrows. He took up the bow and noticed it folded making it easier to carry. He then put the quiver with the trick arrows on his back and stuffed what he could it into a pack he found in the crate. Suddenly he heard the sound of repulser fire so he climbed on top of a large stack of crates to get a view of the situation. Anatoly was trapped behind a large steel box as 3 of the Hunter soldiers fired on him. Anthony decided to test his new bow.
He pulled out an arrow with the letters EMP stamped on the head, "Like the sound of that."
The arrow slammed into the head of one of the soldiers causing him to drop like a stone as his armor failed on him. The other soldier turned just in time for one to take an adamantium arrow through his face plate. Anatoly had picked the lock to a particularly large crate as the third soldier was hit by an electricity arrow that fried his systems but he was able to hit the alarm as he went down. Anthony dropped off the crates and yelled to Anatoly, "I think its about time to go."
Anatoly yelled back, "One moment my friend."
Anthony readied an arrow as the soldiers burst in the room. They quickly surrounded him ordering him to drop the weapon. Just as they were about to arrest him there was the sound of heavy metal footfalls. They turned to see the large red armor, nearly the size of a Hulkbuster unit stomping out of a crate. Anthony was stunned by the size of the thing as the soldiers turned to fire on it.
The Crimson Dynamo grabbed by the head and swung him like a flail at the nearest soldier sending him crashing through the wall. He then tossed away the soldier in his hand whose neck had been shattered by the pure force of the strike. His back turned to Anthony and a compartment opened. Anatoly spoke from inside, "It is storage compartment, may be cramped but much safer."
Anthony sighed and ducked in as Anatoly continued his attack. Once the compartment had closed Anatoly blasted a hole in the roof and launched through it heading toward New York city.
