Madison, Wisconsin
“MOVE!” roared Bezull as he slammed into the Iron Soldier standing over the injured Madrox. Kimberlyn laid covering fire from her electronic crossbow as Constellation shot bolts of starlight from her fingertips at the two hunters circling in the air above them.
Bezull clicked open his radio “WHERE ARE YOU DISTAIN?” as he dug his fingers into the soldier’s back and tore open the armour like a frat boy disposing a beer can.
“I am extracting revenge”
“What?”
“Border has been killed. I am currently chasing down the Iron Soldier who has murdered him and will repay him in kind”
Distain roared across the sky after the Hunter, leaving behind the smouldering shell of the Madison Iron Hall. He fired blasts from his repulsors as the Hunter did barrel rolls and loops to avoid death.
“Mayday! Mayday! This is Lieutenant Josh Time of Madison Hunter Division, I am…”
“Wasting your time!” Darius’ voice echoed through Lieutenant Time’s helmet “I’m jamming your signal. The only people in the sky are the two of us; you for not much longer!”
“Please don’t kill me!”
“You have killed a comrade of mine Lieutenant, I cannot let that slide. You can either run until I catch you, or take your punishment like a man”
“I was doing my job!” yelled Lieutenant Time as he banked around and flew back at Distain, who suddenly vanished from view “Where’d you run to huh? Scared?”
“No, merely cloaked” The invisible Distain smashed straight through the Hunter leaving nothing but a red smear in the sky, the Lieutenant’s arms snapping off as he was hit at Mach 7.
“Now where do you want me Beast?”
“Come down on this transmission Darius!” came Bezull’s gruff reply.

“What the starking stark happened?!” yelled Churchill as he crunched the gears of the transport as Bezull, Kimberlyn and Madrox clambered into the back. Constellation kept firing starbolts but the remaining Hunter easily dodged and returned fire with high calibre fire, making her jump into the transport as the bullets peppered the aged truck.
“Madrox was spotted when he tried to tap into the Iron Hall. Something happened in St Louis that’s put them all on edge, hence the welcome wagon” said Bezull as he searched the truck for something.
The Hunter’s repulsor hummed as it took aim when its head exploded in a column of laser energy. Distain rammed the headless Hunter out of the way and landed in the back of the transport, laying Border flat on the ground.
“Oh stark!” cried Kimberlyn
“This is why using children, is not a good idea beast” said Distain as he and Bezull caught each other’s line of sight. Both looked hard at each other before having to turn away.
“Get us home” Bezull ordered. The transport creaked and bounced away from Madison.
Napoleon Base, Marengo, Illinois
“I tried calling you” said Kimberlyn as she crawled out of the tunnel into the base. Darius followed her up and brushed the crap from the tunnel off him “Hey! I’m talking to you!”
“What?” snapped Darius
“I tried calling you telepathically” she repeated “But all I got was like static”
Darius smiled “Really? That is quite excellent. Could you send a probe into my mind?”
“Now? Seriously, you have no tact. I got one dead friend, the other in the infirmary and you want to run a dr…” Her rant was cut short as Darius backhanded her, blood flying.
“Maybe you need some motivation” snarled Darius
“Oh stark you!” Kimberlyn grabbed Darius telekinetically and slammed him up to the roof, he engaged the Supremis seconds before the impact. She slammed him down to the ground and back up to the roof like a dog ravaging a small animal. Bezull grabbed her by the throat.
“ENOUGH!”
Distain hung in mid-air, limp. Kimberlyn burst into tears and ran off, dropping him like a stone. Bezull scooped him up “Are you okay Darius?”
“She needed to vent,” wheezed Distain “I needed practice. I decided to push her because she holds back during drills. The Supreme Commander will not”
“You are a nutcage!” said Bezull “Next time I will let her rend you limb from limb, because your timing is quite distasteful”
“Would you like to vent also?” Distain’s repulsors whirred as he wobbled on his feet.
“I am going to check on Madrox and then organise a funeral” Bezull slumped and walked away “You can find out what happened in St Louis if you really wish to be useful and not suicidal”
Distain waited until Bezull had left before collapsing into a heap.
