Marvel Genesis: Sabretooth, Part 2- To Smell A Mile Away

While travelling to Paris, Victor Creed recalled what General James Hudson had told him. This mission could prove to be difficult to find Mystique who might be somewhere, screwing around with the government agencies. He sat on the seat, staring at his sharp claws, and was glad that he got free from the dampening collar. Now that he got his powers back, he could get out of the mission anytime he wants. But the problem is that he went through a surgery, where scientists had implanted a microchip inside his head, so that he can be tracked down. If Victor had walked out of the mission, his brain might get fried, not to mention the microchip contains the carbonadium liquid. The general warned him that the microchip will rupture apart automatically and the red liquid will affect his brain, thus shut down his nervous system, making him brain dead.

Victor couldn’t believe he was going to get the blue mutant. His orders were to capture Mystique and retrieve the stolen information. She never talked with him during the past missions back in Project X. For him, she was a true beauty and hard to play with. Nobody could withstand her at this point. Victor wonders whether he can find her since she could transform herself into anyone she wishes.

He looked around at the soldiers who were staring at him. They were on a plane, escorting him to Paris to find the blue mutant. They were thinking how their superior officer would send a dangerous mutant to track down another one. These soldiers were well-trained, arm-equipped with their weapons in case if Victor is going to attack them.

“Ain’t it a nice day?” Victor said to the silent soldiers. “Have you ever been to Paris? I used to be there once. It was the 1940s. Yeah...I sure hell remember those days, raping those Jewish women, killing them, tasting their blood...They cried, you know. Not even their husbands could hear them, their children...Oh yeah, that’s the good stuff. You should try it sometime. You’re soldiers, right? If you were like me, I’m pretty sure you would do the same.”

One soldier got up from his seat, and was going to hit Victor on the face, but the other soldier, who sat beside him made him stop. Their orders were only to bring Victor Creed to Paris rather than causing trouble. Victor smiled at them.

“Heh!” Victor said as he raised his arms, folding back, almost taking a nap. He looked outside the window, wondering when he’s going to arrive in Paris. It’s true that he killed several people in the past. After he was beaten down by Logan along with Captain America, he escaped and travelled to Paris. At that point, he lived there among the Jewish town, wandering from house to house, looking for fresh blood. That time, the French soldiers were sent out to find the cause of all the violent mayhem. When those soldiers were looking for him, he managed to kill them, silently one by one. Victor was smart. He didn’t intend to cause much noise like the crying wives and mothers who were raped by him. He had the skills to keep him from further trouble and managed to get out easily, easy as pie.

The plane finally landed on the private base of Paris. Victor Creed took off his seatbelt, and got up. The soldiers did the same, raising their weapons, pointing towards him. Victor sure had enough of the distrust going around here. Of course, they have the right to fear him. But these soldiers weren’t afraid. Like the general said, the more Victor causes trouble, the red liquid will affect his brain. He didn’t want it to happen, so he had no other choice but to follow his orders just like his soldiers were following them. One soldier opened the door of the plane and let out the stairs come on the floor. The soldier behind Victor pushed him back a little with the tip of his gun. Victor came down the stairs and noticed a black car waiting outside. A man who wore a black suit and glasses was waiting for him. Victor smelled him, but couldn’t recognize who he was. The soldiers brought him forward to the man in black. The man came forward slightly in front of Victor. He raised his hands, waiting for the shake. Victor shook his hands. The man in black smiled.

“Hello mate,” the man in black said. “The name’s Pete Wisdom. How are you this morning?”

Victor Creed noticed his accent was British. He wondered what a British guy like Pete Wisdom would want to meet him in Paris.

“We haven’t met,” Victor said.

“True, mate,” Pete said. “If you don’t know me, I’m the head of the MI-13. It’s a British Intelligence Agency.”

Victor gave a confused look. He thought that he could get out alone and find the blue mutant alone. Instead, he finds himself meeting with people, he hadn’t met before.

“What’s the meaning of this?” Victor wondered.

“Can I call you Vic, mate?” Peter said, ignoring Victor’s words. “I’m sure you don’t mind.”

“Heh! Heh! Heh!” Victor laughed a bit. “Is this some kind of a joke?”

“No joke, Vic,” Pete said with a smile. “You must be wondering why you had to meet me.”

Victor thought that General Hudson must have told this Pete guy about his arrival. But there is something more to this than just an ordinary meeting.

“Before I tell you more of what’s going on here, Vic,” Pete said. “I liked to show you something.”

Victor wondered what the British guy was talking about. He looked at the soldiers to see if they were still standing behind them. There were only two of them, still raising their guns. Victor turned back towards Pete Wisdom.

“Okay,” Victor said, “You’re wasting my time. I thought I was going to find Raven alone.”

“That’s right, Vic,” Pete said. “For that, you need to see something first.” He raised his fingers, pointing towards Victor. Then he produced hot knives from the tip of his fingers and flings them towards the vicious Sabretooth. The hot knives got stabbed in Victor’s chest. He cried out in pain while almost falling down on the floor. He didn’t see this coming.

“What...the...f*ck?” Victor said as he looked up at Pete Wisdom. Pete smiled, knowing that Victor didn’t know he was also a mutant. He wanted to show the feral mutant that there can be more than one, willing to work alongside each other, finding Raven.

“Surprised, Vic?” Pete said. “Don’t worry. You’ll heal yourself up in no time. It’s just to show that you’re not alone.”

Victor knew what he meant. But he already knows that there were more mutants living among humankind. This was quite different for Victor when he witnessed what Pete Wisdom did to him, not to mention he was working for the British Intelligence Agency. He got up from the floor, staring at the man in black.

“Heh!” Victor said. “That was something. I never thought you could work for humans.”

“Yeah, I get that a lot,” Pete said. “Not everyone knows what I am. I tend to keep secrets. Now that I have revealed myself to you, shall we proceed?” He pointed to the black car.

Victor looked at his chest wounds, which got healed. It was a horrible pain that he never felt before. Who knows if he had messed up with Pete Wisdom. He could throw many hot knives at him anytime he wanted. Maybe, next time Victor can dodge Pete’s hot knives. Those sharp things could really hurt.

“Where are we going?” Victor asked.

Pete Wisdom opened the door to his black car and motioned for Victor to sit down.

“I’ll tell you everything when we get there,” Pete said, without telling where they are actually going. Victor Creed wasn’t sure about this. But he had to find out and see it for himself.

To be continued in Marvel Genesis: Sabretooth, Part 3- Wisdom.

What’s this all about? Victor Creed now had to join another mutant, Pete Wisdom to find Mystique? In Paris? Find out what will happen in the next part of Sabretooth. I ain’t likin’ this one bit. SLASH!

Thanks. :)

The four-part Sabretooth story (Project X: The Birth of Wolverine, Chapters 71-74).takes place in the 1940s. First, it's being told in flashbacks and then the present. I think the fight took place in Chapter 74. If you don't remember, you can check the chapter links in the wikispaces page.
