Tony Stark was the arrogant son of wealthy, weapon manufacturer Howard Stark. Tony cared only about himself, but he would have a change of heart after he was kidnapped by terrorists and gravely injured. Pressured to create a weapon of mass destruction, Stark instead created a suit of armor powerful enough for him to escape. Tony used his vast resources and intellect to make the world a better place as The Invincible Iron Man. Stark's super hero identity led him to become a founding member of the Avengers.
@ALMIGHTY: If any body else did it ti would be brilliant, knowing his luck it would probably develop sentience take over his body get him drunk & embarrass him publicly ^_^
Vibranium and Adamantium are both incredibly rare and are very difficult to smelt and mold... to make something as simple as a shield would be hard enough, but to make something as complicated and as intricate as IronMan armor and tech would probably be near impossible
he invents a gadget to harnas the vibrational energy and use it as an attack. Iron man is that smart.
Is that why he hasn't done it yet?
Bad writers or good writers depends on your perspective. Tony stark is certainly clever enough to figure it out but what than? Tony is now truly the invincible iron man. This would take away from several other heroes niches and overall make any team with tony in it less interesting from an action economy perspective. Hell iron man doesn't "need" a team for the same reason Reed Richards doesn't "need" a team. He can make highly effective robot duplicates of his team mates. Just look at Ragnarok as an example, hell he made a technological hammer that had most of the Powers Of Mjolnir.
anyway thats my 2 pennies as to why he isn't adamantium man instead of iron man.
