I want to write Thor, any thoughts?

I was thinking of "rectonning:" the character in the following ways:

1. Thor would adopt a secret identity named "Donald Blake."

2. He would be a neurosurgeon working and living in New York City.

3. Thor(not donald) would be New York City's protector.

4. Thor would occasionally visit Asgard, and when he does so have Eric Materson take his place.

5. Various villains would constantly threaten New York City, and it would be up to Thor to stop them.

These shall be villains that appear in Thor's "mini universe" only.

6. Major Villains(I want to write for):

• Surtur
• Annihilus
• Ares
• Drax the Destroyer
• Loki
• Executioner
• Enchantress
• Mangog
• Mephisto

7. Minor Villains(I want to write for):

• Juggernaut
• Black Bolt
• Kurse

8. Other characters(on Earth):

• Eric Materson
• Thorgirl
• Hercules

Any thoughts?

@xxxddd First off I love Thor and I'm looking forward to this. However just going off this it's tough to give advice on, So one thing I will say watch out for is Eric Masterson.

If you're going to use him as a "sub" of sorts for Thor, be sure to have him do things while he's away. Maybe show what he agrees and disagrees with Thor on and their relationship.

My point is try and make Eric important don't just say and off sailed Thor to fight Loki in Asgard and when Thor arrives at Asgard Volstagg asks "Hey what about earth" and Thor replies "Oh Thunderstrikes got that covered"

(I don't know what you have planned,but using big characters as background characters is my one pet hate xD)

@Irishlad: I wanted to have Eric fight some of thor's villains when thor is off world, give an underrated character some respect.

You should read my series for some ideas if you like, I think it could help you with writting dialogue.

Sound good! Only difficulty you should have is making believable fights between Thor and characters like Drax and Surtur in New York, without them completely destroying the city! :]

@xxxddd: I mean, I'm not the biggest Marvel person, so I can't say, "oh, use suchandsuchcharacter!" or "don't use THAT plot device!". As for advice it sort of looks like you are already planning out what characters you want to use and what antagonists will be and such.

Idk, I don't really like the idea of Thor having a secret identity. I don't know THAT much about the character, but I feel like he'd be above that.

Looks great. I`d read it. Some things of it are identical to the golden age Journey into Mystey (which I would love to see in today`s comics). I also love the Thunderstrike idea! Go for it, man!
