Freaks Flashforward, Chapter 11 - Final Chapter

I was facing the Isolationist who was standing towards me. A drench of snow fell all over the place. I was sort of freezing to death. I could use a little bit of heat to warm things up. I never thought it will turn out this way. But I have to stop him before he kills these innocent carnival folks. Nicole was just standing there and smiling as if she's some kind of a trickster. I always wonder if she has such human emotions. Who knows? I bet this Isolationist guy created her in the first place.

Josef: You're right, Qwan. I'm the one who staged these events right before it happens.

Qwan: What? You knew?

Josef: Of course I knew. I'm a telpath for goodness sake. What do you think? How else I was going to lure you?

Qwan: Heh! Don't tell me you're a psychic now.

Josef: Oh yes. I was a psychic. I saw everything. I sensed Blindfold's power and used it to my own advantage. In that way, I could predict your every movement.

Qwan: I see. You just made a plan in your head. I never wonder such madman like you would do such a thing.

Josef: You could say I'm a madman. But I won't be mad once I kill every single one of you.

Qwan: I see you created that robot girl there. Heh! You used her to trick me.

Josef: I never used her. She's my own creation.

Qwan: Let me guess. You also borrowed Forge's ability to create her. Isn't it?

Josef: You are a smart young man, Qwan. I like you. But I will finish you off before I kill the others.

Now I have realized what was going on here. In order to beat me, he had to see the future how it would play out. But Melissa had interefered and he knew that Melissa would tell me what's going on. She probably knew how I was going to beat him. But I doubt she would tell me though. Because I asked too many questions. 

Qwan: Let's see who wins, Josef.

Josef: I can sense your ability, Qwan. Do not underestimate me.

Qwan: I won't let you kill these innocent souls. I'll make sure that you back where you belong.

Josef: I don't belong anyhwere unless I kill all of the mutantkind.

Josef's eyes were beginning to turn red and I realized that he was using Scott's power. I better watch out because I don't even know how many powers he copied from.

POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!

SPLOSH! SPLOSH!

Qwan: Ahhh!

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

POOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!

SPLOSH!

Qwan: Ok, mister. You're asking for it.

I begin to open my mouth and screamed for long as I can hold my breath on. I kept screaming but it didn't effect him. Crap! 

Josef: You do realize I have your older brother's power.

Qwan: What? What are you saying?

Josef: Remember the fight with the Beast Kings. Yes, you were able to absord those sound vibrations and was able to use it at a high volume.

Qwan: You were the one who did it? 

Josef: That's right. I saved you, Qwan. In order to see how you can become stronger.

Qwan: So you're saying you used Xian's power. Great!

Josef: You are right on the track. I can see you remember your past of what happened to you and your little step-brother.

Qwan: You sure do know a lot of things. I can tell you that.

Josef: Of course. That's why I need to kill all of you. So I can become a normal person like ordinary people.

Qwan: What can't you go to space for a change? Oh yeah, I forgot. You might able to copy alien powers too. 

Josef: That I wouldn't be too sure of it. I can only copy mutant powers so far and so good. 

Qwan: Have you ever consider yourself a mutant?

Josef: Not exactly. I'm something else that you all mutants should fear of.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW!

SPLOSH!

Qwan: Ahh!

SPLOSH!

Josef: I'll kill you right here and right now, Qwan. You can't do anything to me.

Qwan: Oh yeah. I'll make sure that your ears will bleed for good.

Josef: HA! Try me.

When I opened my mouth, I couldn't scream. I wonder what was happening to my power. As if my powers went down the drain for good. Oh no! He must have borrowed Leech's power. Crap!

Josef: What's the matter, Qwan? Can't use it? It's too bad that I had to dampen your power. How about I use your power for a change?

Uh-Oh! I don't like the sound of this. I better close my ears.

Josef: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......

Crap! I covered my ears and I can still hear the scream. He must have put his sonic scream to high volume. I...can't take it. Ahh!

Qwan: Ahhh!

SPLOSH!

Josef: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Qwan: Ah...

Nicole: Josef, I think he's exhausted. Should we kill him now?

Josef: I'll kill him myself.

Oh man. I never thought this would happen to me. I tried to think of something how to beat him. But how? He has so many powers and...Wait! That's it. If he's borrowing their powers, he must have been using it one at a time. First, he used Scott's power. Then, he used Xian's power and later Leech's power and then mine. Even though I could use my power now, I still couldn't beat him. Because he can use Xian's power without knowing it. Crap! I wish, I was psychic. 

Josef: Get up, Qwan! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

The only way I could defeat him is to somehow destroy Nicole. Hmmmmm. If I can use sonic scream on her, she might able to explode. That would mean killing her and the Isolationist standing beside her. What tough luck!

BRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

POOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!

SPLOSH!

Ok, here goes nothing. I hope this works.

Josef: I'll kill you, Qwan. If it is the last thing I do.

Qwan: Oh yeah. Then I'll keep doing this. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....

Josef: You fool. Can't you see? Your power can't affect me. Why don't you stop screaming? Eh?

Qwan: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....

zzzzT! ZZZZT!

Nicole: Jos...Josef. I'm feeling something funny inside..inside of...me...me...me. I'm not...not...feeling...good...good.

zzzzT! ZZZZT!

Josef: What are you doing to her?

Qwan (thought): I'm killing her, Josef.

Josef: What?

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Josef: AHHHHHHHHHHHH! 

I stopped screaming and saw the flames engulfed upon Josef's body. He was crying out in pain and agony. Later, the Isolationist fell down to the deserted snow and I defeated him fair and square. I wonder if he's dead this time but I may not be too sure of it. Because he could have used Logan's healing factor for all I know. Anyways, his threat was over for good.

I went back to the carnival and made a report to my new friends and including Melissa. Mr. Pocket was happy to hear that Josef was dead. Not only that, the whole carnival were happy and made celebrations. I told Melissa whether Josef can be alive since he might have copied Logan's healing factor. She wasn't too sure of it. But at least now the carnival can move out to another place where the Isolationist won't be hunting them down. 

When Mr. Pocket went back to his main tent, Melissa also told me that I can stay with them. But I had in mind that I would want to leave this place so that I can go back to my friends. I always begin to think that this was all a test or a dream. But I guess it wasn't a dream. Did I actually beat the Isolationist? Who knows? But I felt confident and quite stronger than I imagined. I also warned Melissa about her sickness but she said not to worry about it. Because she saw how Ryan and Gambit were able to save her younger self in time. It does sound good news though but I wonder when will that happen. Anyways, I said goodbye to my new friends including Mr. Pocket and the old pirate whom I haven't asked his name yet. I guess you could say it's Blackbeard. 

I went out from the red curtain and saw the old pirate driving his horse cart to a safer place where they might belong. I wonder if they travel everywhere just to perform their acts to the public. But I wouldn't be too sure about it.

As I was alone walking through the deserted snow miles and miles away, I heard someone chopping a wood. I wonder who would chop a wood at this time. If you ask me, there may be wood choppers or cutters out there building their houses at this time of weather. While I was hearing the chopping sound, I noticed a bike besides the tree logs. I touched the bike and it felt smooth as ever. This bike was looking cool in a good way. The bike had fire logs and red color on it. As I was touching the bike, a short man came behind me and said a word that most people would always hear it.

Logan: Hey bub. What do ya think you're doing?

I looked back and saw Logan also known as Wolverine standing in front of me. Is this some kind of a journey luck or an illusion? I'm not sure but I guess I'm in the right place.

Qwan: Hi. You must be Logan. Isn't it?

Logan: You know me?

Qwan: Of course I do.

Logan: I see. What a kid like ya doing out here?

Qwan: I was hoping I would ask you the same question.

Logan: Heh! I see someone sent you here.

Qwan: No, it's just me. I came alone.

Logan: You sure got guts, kid. I can tell ya that.

I explained everything to Logan of what had taken place. He listened and decided he wouldn't help me since he was busy building his new cabin.

Logan: How about helping me with these things? And I'll think about this training of yours.

Qwan: Sure, no problem.
