The Poet just wrote on your wall:
So, I'm interviewingTheCannon now, but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind being the next person to be interviewed. Now I know you've said no before, but I already have typed up the questions so all you have to do is to write 7-8 answers and you'd be done (quick and painless). If you do say no I swear I will call out every single user who ever asked you to interview the user known as "CapFanboy" so, you can't say no :D that and you would miss what I have planned for an ending...
You make this difficult....I want to say no just to see if you really will but fine, I'll do it xD
Excellent! (Saves me trouble of digging up all those names...) Let's begin!
How did you find Comic Vine?
Oh...well, in one of my many drunken moments at home I usually type gibberish into the keyboard and randomly click links. Eventually I got bored and started searching for graphic novels to see if they were worth whatever I had to pay for them, that search led me here where I saw an off-topic thread about something insanely stupid and signed up that exact second!
Now, normally, I would ask “when did you start writing stories to be published here on CV?” However, that seems like an honestly pointless question because I already know the answer for you (thanks to an incomplete project): early 2011, so we’re going to skip that…
Now I was wondering it has been almost 2 years since you wrote your first two stories, Sentry: Rebirth and The New Defenders, how would you say your writing style changed? How has the FF section effected your writing style?
How my writing style has changed? In one word: Drunker. Which somehow makes it better. I became more cynical if that counts! I also may have become dependent on alcohol. Erm, I really can't remember the old stories...I think Cyclops was in them but I can't be sure, I've moved on to better things. The FF section has done wonders for me as a person, which influences my writing. It's gotten closer since I first came here, people talk to each other more and there are a lot more ideas flowing around, and there are cooler people, especially with the Fan-Fic groups on here (though I do feel guilty about the board being swamped with them at one point, feel like I had a hand in that).
Speaking of FF groups, according to yourFan-Fic group collection thread, you are host/co-host to 3 groups including: Marvel Genesis, and DC Genesis and you have been a member of a number of other groups, so I was wondering: which group you have been apart of would you say is/was your favorite and why?
Does that question even need to be asked? Marvel: Genesis. It's my baby. From start to finish (though it never really finishes). It was the first fan-fic group (as far as I know) here on the vine, and before that I really only talked to one writer. Since the beginning of that group I've gotten to know a ton more people and helped them with their writing (as they have mine), other groups may be about the actual stories and actually being a Fan-Fic group, but M:G is a family, or was, we sorta fell by the wayside recently, but it's definitely something you want to join if you're not too serious about the fan-fic part and just want somewhere to get to know people. I'd get a T-Shirt made if I had the effort.
Is there a story here on CV either published by you or someone else that you would call your favorite?
3 are tied, all written by me. M:G - Captain America, M:G - Thor, Gah #1 (the start of an era)
Let’s talk about"Gah!"for a very quick moment (and I mean quick...). It is an extremely…quirky series of threads with…let’s say…your style of humor placed within dialogue between you and a variety of characters with cameos of real users and (*interviewer makes a face*) my dog.
For readers of this interview who have never read one of the 60+ threads: count your self lucky and run away very very fast...
Anywho, what made you start out to write this series?
I like how you chose quick and not brief. Nice avoiding it. Quirky? Yes. If that means awesome. Your dog was the best bit, that and Black Widow's behind. The real user ones are brilliant, as are the Thor ones. If you haven't read them all, go read them now, we'll wait. Back? Cool. What's that? Why would you want to bathe in bleach? Isn't that going a little too far?
Back on topic: I didn't have the time, effort, energy or sobriety to write lengthy, quality fics. So, I created Gah! When you get fired by a perverted boss who just doesn't get it, that's Gah! When it's 2am in the morning and your damned animal won't stop making those sounds that animals make cause it saw a damn bird in the damn tree through a damn window and all you want is to go to sleep because you have massive bags under your eyes that you could use to hold your shopping, that's Gah! When you drink yourself sober because why stay on this hell-hole when you die at some point anyway, that is Gah! It's your best friend, your worst enemy, your favourite teacher and your own mother all rolled into one. Gah! it brightens your day. Or your booty. We really don't care which one of them it is.
.........
well...changing subject only slightly...how did you come up the username "CapFanboy"?
...It seems really simple, but it isn't. I really just wanted to annoy people. I thought (in a drunken state, like most good ideas) that there were many captains in comic books, and so if I name myself CapFanboy and put a different pic up, they would get confused. Alas, it didn't work. Instead, they just assume Captain America, eventually I did get really interested in Cap and he moved up my list. I also like being called 'Cappie,' 'Cap,' or 'My lord who rules over all and has complete control over my future.' Think it might be a childhood issue....Maybe I didn't punch kids enough.
Who would call you the latter nickname is beyond me...
Moving right along, in your interviews withBATKEVIN74,X35,PRIMEPOWER53, myself, andRAVAGER4, you always asked a question a question which I have since stolen (and, in turn, Project_Worm stole from me in his interview withJOSHMIGHTBE). So, I feel like I should ask that same question to you: why should someone visit the Fan-Fic section? Why should we care about this section?
Cause I am it's Lord, and you should all bow.
So, I had more questions to ask you, but someone wanted to say hello. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you: Power Girl
*cracks knuckles* Hello Cap
Uh, Poet?
Sorry Cap, but I was never serious satisfied with you simply getting shot and dying (did you actually die or did you play dead? Never mind…) after you used my dog in one of your Gahs. What? I did say I had something planned for an ending and revenge would provide a wonderful ending…
See ya, Cap *leaves*
Now, I don’t believe I have ever gotten you back for…let’s see… *counts on fingers* calling me a lesbian, ask--
You mean you’re not a lesbian?! What about Huntress?
SHUT UP! YOU HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE MAN!
Oh, so you notice I’m a man? Maybe you’re just not a lesbian when I’m around.
I SAID SHUT UP! Now, where was I? ah, yes! …for asking if my cousin and I have slept together --which we haven’t-- but most of all: for always mentioning the thing you call my “boob hole”.
*snorts* so you admit you remember having a boob hole?
I SAID NO SUCH THING! THIS IS FOR ALL OF THOSE HORRIBLE THINGS!
*CRASH* BANG*AND OTHER ONOMATOPOEIA BATMAN WORDS*
And that about raps things up. Thanks for a wonderful interview! ;-) I'm evil, I know, but it's my interview so power to the interviewer! :P
