This is a tournament in which writers compete against one another for the Grand Prize!

FOR FIRST PLACE: YOU GET COVER ART FOR A STORY OF YOUR CHOOSING!

FOR SECOND PLACE: ANY ISSUE OF ANY COMIC FOR FREE!

FOR THIRD PLACE: You get a choice between a Fan Ficr's interview with CapFanboy (unless CapFanboy comes third in which case I'm sure The Poet or Project_Worm would be kind enough to give an interview) or a Gah interview.

Limit of Words: NONE, write as much as you like as long as it's contained on the one page (it may give you an edge over your opponent, or maybe not)

The Rules

Legal shtick: The following pertains to JUST this round and the round after this I may change around a few things (we'll see)

Okay........this may be a little confusing at first so if there are any questions shoot me a PM.

Congrats on making it through to Round 2 and to @knightofthechronicle as well since he technically got the most loser votes.

So...with a new round comes a new challenge and this one could either be your cup of tea or cup of poison depending on your co-operation.

You'll be happy to know you'll have two weeks to complete this round starting from today but you must find a partner first.

You will be co-writing a pre-existing team story with one of the writers on this list and you get to choose who it is.

You will need to send PM's asking for them to accept you and once you two have agreed you'll need to drop a comment below showing that you're working together.

Once all the teams are named you'll soon find out what other two writers you are facing though it won't matter too much as you get to choose what team you would like to write.

THERE IS ONE FINAL CATCH HOWEVER, if you manage to progress to the nest round the person you choose to team up with will be the person you face in the next round so choose wisely.

of course, I'm curious about the prizes. Who are you getting to do art? Also: what what's the story on the second place? like you can pick what comic or what are you think on this?

lastly: Cap hasn't done an interview in a while (he told me he couldn't think of questions), so I took over pretty much with Worm doing interviews as well. I'll offer my services as I'm not sure if @CapFanboy would interview them or not (what do you say Cap? want to do the interviews or should I do them?)

@Pyrogram In all honesty I'm going to try and get as much people to sign up as possible first, but I'll probably announce who's against who in about a week.

@CapFanboy You can write good stories, plus it doesn't need to be serious and artistic it could be a parody if you'd like, just as long as it's fan-fic on a comic book character :P

@Irishlad Maybe there should be a word limit say no more than 2000-2500 words, just because it is a competition and if everyone writes epic sagas then that takes up a lot of time and people not really reading the stories. Just a suggestion

@batkevin74 That's a good point and I don't know if you'll agree with me or not but, if someone writes something that is long and drawn out, full of waffling then people will not like it.

The person that will more than likely win is the person that is concise, good at pacing, to the point and holds your interest to the very end is the person the community will more than likely prefer.

So in my opinion if a person writes a bible worth of a story, it'll be worth nothing in the end if they don't weave the story as well as the competitor.

But I'm open to opinions since this is the first version of the tournament it won't be perfect.

I just realized, if we get to pick what our opponent has to write, what if they don't know about what we pick?

As in they've never even heard of it.

I think there should be some kind of list of all the characters possible to pick. Because, Say i got Squirrel Girl... I've never read anything about her, so i'd likely fail utterly at writing her.

And what the hay, can i join and try?

@Decoy Elite@JamesKM716 I understand what you two are saying but the whole point is to make life as difficult for your opponent as possible, so if they throw you someone you never heard of then you throw someone at them they've never heard of, as we progress through the rounds the rules will change testing different abilities of each writers but this one is a test of how well you can adapt.

Also you can always search for the character on here if you don't know the character's history.

@Irishlad: So we're actively suppose to pick stuff that's hard to write?

It feels like kind of cheep.

Also my opponent is totally stuck doing Bomberman fan fic.

@Decoy Elite This is just for the first match in the tournament if you're lucky enough to progress there'll be a new type of match that won't feel "cheap".

Isn't Bomberman a video game character first though? :P
