The Fall of the Roman Empire-Part One
Part Two:
Batman tore at his enemies. By his calculations, there were eight of them. He closed the gap between him and one of his opponents, landing a crushing blow to his jaw. He then connected his heel to the side of another person's face, taking him out of the equation.
"WASTE 'IM!" One of the men shouted, pulling out a gun.
"You wish." Batman said, dodging the bullets. He threw a batarang into the barrel of the gun, causing the man to be knocked unconscious from the backfire.
He smiled as he heard one of them mutter "he ain't human. No human could do that!" Two of the men rushed him, and he split kicked the two of them; effectively taking them down.
"Three to go." He muttered under his breath. He intercepted a punch, and used the leverage to toss a man through the air, knocking him into the other. He threw another batarang at another man, and all at once, Batman was the only one that stood.
"YOU-YOU RUINED OUR TEA PARTY!" The Mad Hatter shouted.
"Jervis!" Batman shouted. "THIS GAME ENDS NOW!" He ran for his opponent, and tackled him to the ground, knocking him unconscious from the impact.
"Master Bruce?" A thick English accent rang over his comm. Link. "Commissioner Gordon would like to meet you at the abandoned Motel on 53rd street."
"A murder?"
"I believe so, sir."
"Tell him I'll be there."
Later:
"It's a mess." Gordon said. "I know the guy was a murderer, but hell, he shouldn't have been set on fire!"
"Any evidence?"
"Dent--Two Face left his prints all over the place...almost as if--"
"He wanted us to know." Batman cut him off. "Did he leave any clues to who would be next?"
"A note saying connections are next...you thinkin' what I'm thinkin'"
"Falcone's business partner...Sal 'The Boss' Maroni."
Gordon turned around to light a cigarette. "That's what we figured, we--" He turned around to find Batman gone. "Damn."
